Have you cut LO's hair?

edited October 2014 in March 2014 Moms
LO was born with a lot of hair. It's grown quite a bit since but is still short, like a boy's hair cut I guess. But she has a "rat tail" in the back that is about 4 inches long. I'm tempted to cut it but I'm worried I'll regret it.

Re: Have you cut LO's hair?

  • Are you talking chinchilla? Cause the answer is no. It's just starting to grow in the reverse balding pattern he will start to loose it at 20. James- of course! We are trying to get into a routine of cutting it eow.
Yes, your littlest LOs.  I forget some people have more than one.

  • My baby is still practically bald. I wish she had some hair- I love little babies with hair, especially curls.

  • Lol. What hair?
Okay...he had hair when he was born.
    It all.fell.out.

DS1...he has had his bangs (fringe) trimmed twice because it was over his eyes. No trims on the rest of his hair yet. (Total cut from both trims might have added up to 3 inches)

Seeeeeeee, LO doesn't have more than fuzz.

DD also has the rat tail thing going on, she has since birth. I won't cut it though. I don't plan to cut her hair until it gets really long way down th road.

Eta: it tends to curl a little now, didn't before, so it isn't so bad.

  • J's had two haircuts already. He was born with hair and it never fell out. At about four months old I snipped his neckline and what was growing over his ears and about two weeks ago I trimmed it again.

  • Nope!! My husband has been wanting to but I won't let him. He says she has a mullet! I think it's more rat tail on each side. It's cute cause it has started to curl in both sides now. The rest of her hair is pretty fine but stands up in all directions. Maybe you can see her curls in the pic...
  • Nothing to cut here,  only about 1.5 inches and I am so happy she has that.

  • I haven't cut the hair of either of my LOs!  DD1 could probably use a haircut but I know as soon as she gets a haircut, she's going to look like a big girl and I sort of love her messy toddler hair.

  • No!  I will not / would not until he is 1!!!  It could be cut bc it is long especially in the front with a weird/but cute curly piece.  My dh wants to but I have stated absolutely not until he is 1!  I have always believed it to be bad luck to do so before they are 1.  yes, that is silly/not founded, etc but it is my belief and dh will not cut it behind my back or there will be hell to pay!
  • I've never heard about this bad luck to cut their hair this young. Anyway I felt I had to do it. His hair is stick straight and he would have had a fabulous baby mullet by next March.

  • He has so much hair that they have to pin it back at daycare when they feed him. It is so long and fluffy. Everyone wants me to cut it but I just can't. I love it!

Same here! Even if they did have more than 1/4 inch, it would be hard to see since it's such a light blonde
  • Nope, not enough to cut yet.

  • DD has a few stragglers that are long, but it's really thin and short! Hopefully, it will grow by the time she's in kinder!
  • Lol LO has next to no hair. At this rate she won't need a haircut until she's 10

  • No!! DS had a ton of hair when he was born. Some fell out, but not much. It's over his ears on the side and DH wants to cut it, but I don't want to yet. I'm afraid it will make him look too much like a little boy and not a baby. image

  • So much hair! I'm doing pigtails to keep the hair out of her face. It also gets really greasy when I leave it down because she always has her hands in it. My dad keeps threatening to cut it! I want to wait, but she could use a trim to even it out.
  • Nope. But his first haircut will be done by his surgeon on the 27th. Hopefully they won't have to shave his whole head. It took forever to get his cute blonde curls as is!

  • I trimmed baby A's back neckline... She has crazy scraggly hairs that grow from the middle of the back of her head! It looks 100% better! I don't know why those hairs grow so much faster than the rest? Baby B's hair is still short, but glad I got both their ears pierced so most can tell they are girls!
