Re: Ten Things Tuesday!

  • 1.  So I got the rude awakening this morning of my dog puking all over the bed.  Forced me out of bed way earlier then I was ready and now all the sheets are in the wash.  Lots of gagging involved while I tried to clean that up.

    2.  Pumped for me A/S tomorrow.  This is the longest I have gone without seeing the baby since I started at the OB as I was getting weekly u/s up to my loss date.

    3.  I also start a mini staycation tomorrow.  R's 3 year old niece is coming to stay with us and we are going to take her apple picking, to the Boston Aquarium, carve pumpkins, and all sorts of fun activities.

    4.  R starts her seasonal work week as of November 6th.  Which is a mandatory 6 day work week for all managers.  I will never get to see her but it also puts the pressure on to get the nursery started because all of November and December are basically out for getting anything done.

    5.  Got tickets for the entire family to go to Tran-Siberian Orchestra in December.  It should be fun.  R and I have gone for the past 2 years but I think my family will really enjoy it.

    6.  I have been watching my brothers new puppy on my days off.  She is such a little peanut and it makes me want a puppy so badly.

    7.  As I am writing this I can feel the baby moving around.  It is fun feeling the baby shift and move.  I feel like the baby doesn't like additional pressure of say tight pants or the computer sitting on my lap so baby kicks to let me know how they feel about it.

    8.  I think Oliver still isn't feeling great cause he has been cuddling next to me all morning.  But he can't be feeling to bad cause throwing up didn't stop him from eating his breakfast and then trying to get Xander's too.

    9.  I am not motivated enough to work today.  I need to get in the shower and get ready but cuddling with Oliver is just more fun.

    10.  Happy Tuesday!!!

  • 1. It's DW's birthday today!

    2. I really wish my period would start or I would get a BFP.  This in limbo crap is killing me!

    3. I believe our puppy ate her poop this morning.

    4. Looking forward to the yellow ribbon event we are going to this weekend and getting to spend time with my BIL, SIL and nephews.

    5. Someone in my office left the refrigerator door open all night so all the yogurts I had for this week were spoiled.  :((

    6. I am making DW's favorite cake for her birthday to have during our date night Friday - Red Velvet Cheesecake!

    7. Everyone in my house (myself, DW, and our 7 furbabies) all seem to be suffering from hay fever.  We are vacuuming and dusting daily, everyone has been shaved down and bathed.  I think one of our cats and I had a sneezing fit at the same time.

    8. I really wish I could stop obsessing over why my LP is now two days longer than it has ever been before.

    9. While having my morning tea, I read back through the journal I have been keeping to document our TTC journey.  It is amazing all of the highs and lows you go through in this process, and for me in such a short amount of time.

    10. Here's to going to letting go of this sour mood I am in, and taking the rest of the day as it will come.  Today is about celebrating the birth of my favorite person in the world!

    Happy Tuesday Everyone!

  • 1. Well, it's 12:30 and I've managed to not start my period yet. So that's a plus. (Today is Day 26 so I'm kinda anticipating it)

    2. I was slightly disappointed to see my temp drop a little more this AM. (Still pretty far from my cover line though) I'm kind of trying to convince myself that it's because I took it a half hour early and I had been tossing and turning a bit before I looked at my phone and realized what time it was. So maybe this morning's temp was off??

    3. It's been super rainy here so far this week. I'd prefer that to happen on the weekend because I can't enjoy it at work. (In other words, I can't stay curled up in bed or on the couch lol)

    4. J, my mom, my sister, and I had an awesome time at our football game on Sunday. It was so much fun and the weather was beautiful!!

    5. J took the day off work yesterday and brought me lunch at work! It was nice to have her home after work. Unfortunately it was my late day so I got home later than normal, but I'll take what I can get.

    6. I wore my hair up and my glasses today and for like the first hour after she got there, one of the little girls I have in my class at work kept giving me the side eye.

    7. Jimmy Johns brought in sample sandwiches to work, so I actually had lunch today! So that was nice.

    8. I'm out of things at number 8! Oh well!
  • 1. I fear I might need glasses. I have been getting pretty crappy headaches several times a week, and now it feels like I keep blinking and have a hard time focusing my eyes at times. Really hoping I am wrong about this...

    2. My wife and I decided to have a light cooking week this week. I have been cooking a lot, and I am glad that I am and would like to keep it up... but I also have been stressed and tired and missing my baby a lot during the week... so a week were I only cook 2 or 3 nights and supplement with salads and soup, etc. sounds good to me. I am hoping my heart is back in it for cooking next week after I have had a small break.

    3. I haven't stepped on a scale in a month, and it has been good for me, and helping me to not be a crazy, psycho diet lady. I think I have lost weight in that time, but not really sure how much. One of my coworkers commented on my weight loss yesterday, and that made me feel good. I feel confident that over time I will get back to where I want to be. Being moderate about this feels good at the moment.

    4. I can't wait until the holidays! I have hoarded my remaining vacation days, and I will be taking a week off at Thanksgiving and two weeks off at Christmas.

    5. I ordered a Halloween costume for Will yesterday!

    6. I usually never buy my lunch during the week, but 2 weeks ago I was having a really rough work day and really did not want to eat the lunch that I brought. So I decided to treat myself to a salad from the café in the bottom of my office building. It was sooooo good! Now I want it all the time. This weekend I bought the fixings to try to make this salad myself at home. It involves spinach, feta, dried apricots, figs and pecans. Definitely not low cal, but REALLY yummy. I am going to try to make it tonight to bring to work for lunch tomorrow. I hope it tastes close to the real deal. The dressing could make or break it though...

    7. Reese and Will have been much more interested in each other lately. It is super cute.

    8. Everywhere I turn I read something about Ebola. I am trying desperately not to read about it too much. I am a logical, informed person... I also admit that I am a worrier, AND I am a new mom who would throw myself in front of a train for my child. Between Ebola, Enterovirus, the upcoming flu season... I just want to quarantine my family, please. Thanks.

    9. My world has changed SOOO much in the last year. Even more in the last two years. When I sit back and think about it, it is just totally crazy! I can barely wrap my head around it.

    10. I would like for Fall weather to come back, please. 80 degrees in mid October in PA?!?! Seriously?!?!

  • 1.  I love our new house... like really love it.  I still can't believe it is ours..  and I think it will be our forever home.  It definitely has room for our family to grow!

    2.  We had an excellent meeting with our doula last night.  We talked about all of our fears about childbirth.  It was good to put them out there.

    3.  This baby should does like to party!  I swear she is doing the cha-cha slide sometimes.

    4.  Yesterday was our second wedding anniversary.  I sure do like being married to my wife!

    5.  Speaking of marriage, it is getting to that point with this whole marriage equality thing where I am like: seriously, what about us?  I really want it to happen for Ohio before our little bop bop is born.  Last week we actually had a serious conversation about delivering in a state where A could be listed on the BC.

    6. It is Halloween time at camp.  This morning I spent over 3 hours, and over $300 on Halloween decorations.  I love Halloween, and it is so fun to spend money that is not mine to satiate my Halloween deco addiction!

    7.  I want to decorate all the rooms in our house RIGHT NOW... but we should probably unpack things first :)

    8.  I want to nap all the time.  And my feet have started to swell.  Oh yeah... and none of my clothes fit.  I keep accusing A of shrinking my tshirts... she is not buying it.

    9.  For the past week I have been working from home while we move.  I sure do miss that!  Mostly I miss being around my niece and wife.  They are so awesome!

    10.  I have had a few serious moments of pregnancy brain this week.  Once I forgot my age... and then sometimes I just space out and forget completely what I am doing.  This doesn't bode well for being on top of things!

Baby Hayden Frances born 12/20/14 at 11:11 a.m...  Our perfect little miracle.  Here's how we got here:

Our son M was born 6.2013

M was conceived via IVF using donor sperm and my wife's eggs. My wife carried.

  • 1) These chips and salsa are amazing from On the Border.
    2) This class I'm in "Drug Interdiction" today is quite interesting.
    3) It makes my heart break to see or heart about other officers getting killed.
    4) I sure hope I don't catch Ebola from all the traffic stops I make.
    5)Christmas is almost here.
    6) Why did I sign up to work off duty on Black Friday at Walmart? Ugh!
7)I really need to order some more cold gear under armour shirts for work.
    8) This joker costume I put together for Halloween better be a hit in Vegas!
    9) I really wish people on welfare would get drug tested.
    10) When I get out of class, I need to go home and clean the house!
  • 1. So tired...so so tired. It's going to be a coffee kind of a day around here and I'm having a heart to heart with M tonight to explain to him that Mommy needs her sleep (and so does he)

    2. Work is so overwhelming right now. I thought I could get what I used to get done in 40 hours in 32, but after being back to work for almost 2 months, work is kicking my butt

    3. I need a vacation. We are supposed to go down to AZ to visit some of J's friends. I am thinking we should plan this little get away sooner rather than later.

    4. J is turning 29 on Friday and is really struggling for some reason. I know different people react to aging differently, but I don't get it. She was certain she was turning 28 until I reminded her that she was already 28 a few months ago. She's accomplished a ton in her life, and traveled a lot..but she is definitely mourning her youth. I can't imagine what next year will be like when she actually turns 30. :(

    5. M went on his second hike this weekend and was actually awake for it this time. He seemed to enjoy it and we even saw a moose and a ton of chipmunks.

    6. I'm sad about the holiday's coming up and not being able to eat dairy. I'm going to ask the pedi about it next week at M's 4 mo check up and possibly test to see if he has grown out of his intolerance yet or not. If not, I'll be hitting up @ATXmommas for some yummy dairy free recipes.

    7. I miss my baby and am super jealous that our nanny gets to do so many fun things with him. All he wants to do when I'm around is nurse.

    8. I still need to get J something for her birthday and figure out what she wants to do to celebrate

    9. I need to finish M's mural...like soon

    10. M has recently started loving to look at himself, and me, in the mirror. It's the cutest thing ever, especially when he tries to reach out and touch the baby in the mirror that he does not know is him.

  • 1. I don't think Dr. KK is going to be an option for us due to finances.

    2. One of the IVF nurses called me yesterday finally. Our consult with our RE is November 5th. I'm getting a script for more blood work in the mail and I will be starting a supplement with DHEA and Co-Q10. She also said that I will have another hysteroscopy the cycle when we start our next IVF. This time it will be for an endometrial scrape. Apparently there are some other things he wrote down and we will talk about them in a few weeks.

    3. Finances are stressful right now.

    4. It is a beautiful day today and yesterday was as well. I'm really dreading the snow.

    5. After this week and weekend, we should have all of our wood for the winter cut, split and stacked. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

    6. I finally started getting our house back under control last night. I got a decent amount done and it felt good.

    7. TTC has been the ultimate test of my patience.

    8. I'm still semi sore from my PIO shots and I stopped them almost two weeks ago.

    9. I've slowly been narrowing down the list for sperm donor #3. I feel more pressure this time than before. I have no way of knowing if the sperm will be compatible with my eggs, but I feel like this time is much more important than the previous two times. Hopefully that feeling is a good omen.

    10. Our plan is to start BCPs at the end of December/beginning of January. That puts us into February for ER and ET. One step at a time, one day at a time, don't wish your life away - my new mantra.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • 1. I got home a little bit ago from my job interview and both kids were sleeping and the house only moderately torn up. Poor EV was exhausted though.

    2. The interview went well and the company seems great. The position may be limiting - we'll see. I'm willing to keep an open mind and a positive attitude.

    3. We're transitioning Owen to the crib.  Last night I placed him in the crib for the first time at the beginning of the night (7:30ish).  It took going back in and soothing him 2x and nursing 1x to get him sleepy enough to fall asleep awake in the crib.  He slept until 12:57am.  I then took him in my bed for the rest of the night because I knew I had to be up early today. My goal will be to work on nursing and placing him back in the crib for the rest of the night.  FX  he learns to sleep on his own soon. I for one looooove sleeping on my tummy again with the covers pulled up to my head.

    4. I hope the boys keep sleeping for a bit, I need to create some marketing material for a catering event we're hosting tomorrow. So far launching this business has been super exciting and fun. I have a lot of hope for our future.

    5. It's a really overcast day, just slightly chilly. It feels like true California Fall.

    6. I'm sad that we didn't go camping this year. Part of me  was going to suggest trying to get a camping trip in this weekend - but in reality there's just too much going on.

    7. Sunday, EV and I go in to get our Tdap and Flu shots. I hate needles :(

    8. I have a confession, I owe a few people thank you cards - ugh from a month or more ago!! :(  I'm usually really prompt about this kind of thing, but with the move and everything its just dropped off my radar.  I need to do that this weekend. It's just not okay. I think I'll include some pics of the boys to "make up for it".

    9. I need to go pump. I nursed Owen at 7:20am and its five hours later.  He drank a 3-4oz bottle while I was gone and I'm sure will nurse when he wakes up, but I have a feedings worth making me uncomfortable.

    10. Also starving - time to go scrounge up some lunch.  Have a great week everyone!!

    1. I really appreciate this board.  A lot.

    2. Today has been a tad bit better than yesterday.  S and I agreed that we are going to switch Dr's for Gabe, and it feels good to move forward on something.

    3.  How do you "Break up" with a Dr who you really like as a person, and who has treated/seen your child since birth?  I might chicken out and just say that we need to stay closer to home.  Which isn't entirely untrue.

    4. Because of yesterday's doggie diarrhea disaster and resulting cleanup, we put off filling out the Autism assessment.  We're going to do it tonight.  Ugh.

    5. I had a training today at work that went from 8am-1pm with a single 15-minute break.  How do people not understand that eating is important?  Also I wanted to stab my eyes out.

    6. Because of said training, I've gotten pretty much nothing else done today.  I truly hate days like this.  Good thing I have 4 more of those trainings over the next few months!

    7. We are going to go apple/pumpkin picking this weekend, and I can't wait!  When we went last year, G was just sitting up on his own.  Now he'll be terrorizing the place!  We need to make sure we go somewhere with a petting zoo.  This kid loooooves animals.

    8. Total subject change ... I have GOT to start doing something more active on a regular basis.  I can't even believe who I have become in relation to physical activity.  I'm exhausted all the time and I know that at least in part is due to being a sloth.  But when/how/what?

    9. I threw together some chili on Sunday, and we had it last night for dinner.  It was awesome, and I was a bit surprised.  I had tossed in a ton of greens (spinach, kale and chard) and I was afraid they'd make it too bitter but it really wasn't bad at all.  Best of all, the kid didn't throw one bit of it on the floor!  Win.

    10. It's time to go home!  It's time to go home!  Woooohoooo!
