My body is working on passing a kidney stone... At 38.5 weeks pregnant. Damn it. Went to L&D last night thinking I might be in labor, but there was no progression despite constant crampy pain. I came home feeling a little foolish, and still in pretty bad pain. After seeing blood in my urine, and noticing the pain is confined mostly to my lower right back, I realized it was probably the a stone, which my doctor agrees with. So now I'm just feeling like I'm in labor but I'm not. Sucky.

Right now I can take 2 extra strength Tylenol every 8 hours. It didn't do anything last night, but the stone must have migrated somewhere else because I am finally feeling a little better. They said if the pain is unbearable, I should go back to the hospital. I really hope to be done with it before baby gets here!

I had a kidney stone at 27 weeks, it was the most horrendous pain I've experienced! Glad to hear that it's not too unbearable for you.

Has your doctor scanned your kidney and checked for hydronephrosis? That's what I had which they think caused the stone, although I only had one stone I still have the hydronephrosis which has made one kidney 4 times the size of the other and my OB is talking about inducing me early because of this so it's worth getting it checked out. Good luck!

No, they have not checked for hydronephorsis. I will definately ask the OB if that is something that could be a possibility. Thanks!
