Ok, so I'm watching a program on puppies in the womb and I think they're showing cats in the womb next. They just showed a Golden Retriever eating her placenta after giving birth and explained that they do this to release a chemical which stimulates something-or-other. Ugh - I love dogs but that was just disgusting!

You know, there are some women who do that, too - eat the placenta after birth. ?I read that Tom Cruise did it after Suri was born, but I'm not sure whether that's true. ?In any case, my sentiments are similar to yours ... ugh.

Jamie - I thought it was interesting enough - just could have skipped the eating the placenta thing.....DH wanted to watch it so I'm recording it and now that I told him about the placenta thing he really wants to see (oi!).

There are a couple cultures that eat a small piece of the placenta and then bury the rest in a special place (a garden or under a tree). I think its kinda interesting!
