The final pieces have fallen into place, and we're headed south! Can you recommend any sites to see? We plan to stop a Disneyland, etc but I'd love to hear about the more unusual ones too.
You're driving, right? If probably hit all the different wine tasting regions on the West coast . Redwood national forest is pretty cool. Here in San Diego I'd recommend the Safari Park over the zoo (the zoo is great, but Safari Park is more unique), and there's always beaches, Legoland, etc. Let us all know where you'll be each day so we can give tips . If you come to SD maybe we can have a GTG in your honor.

I second all of this!
And I'll add that Santee Lakes has been voted the best campground of the year. They have RV parking in the campgrounds, 6 or more lakes (can't remember off the top of my head), fishing, playgrounds, a pool in the campgrounds area I think, showers, waterpark, paddle boats, multiple seater bike rentals, etc. It's really awesome. If you come to San Deigo you can stay there for a few nights. @golfergirl08 and I go here for our GTGs and I know she will agree that it's a great place. It's such a relaxing place to go.
There's a place to zip line thorough the redwoods but I can't remember the name. And pretty much all of San Francisco is my favorite. I also second everything @sdlaura said!
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!
The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose is certainly unique and interesting. Or the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, I've never been but I've heard it's fun.
If you end up in Bishop, stop at Erick Schats Bakkery.
Since you're coming to D'Land, stop at Portillo's in Buena Park and get some awesome food, or their chocolate cake shake.
Venice beach can be a good stop, or the Redondo Beach Pier.
yes yes and yes to the chocolate cake shake. mmm. they're heavenly.
i agree stop and see the redwoods. and Yosemite is just gorgeous. its one of my favorite places to go. San Fran is awesome but i think it'd be hard with an RV to navigate. If you have some time, drive down the PCH for a bit. its gorgeous. a bit scary and very long. but beautiful to see the ocean
i feel like a bad californian bc i can't think of more things that are MUST sees.
