Thoughts/Prayers Requested

After being doubled over in pain and BP being high my EVMS dr ordered me to check into the ER for further evaluation for preclampsia. Currently I am 27 weeks along and we have been admitted into the hospital until further notice. To make matters stressful we have discovered my appendix is inflammed (luckily it is not extreme). The Surgeon is attempting antibiotics throughout the night to see if it does the trick. Otherwise we may be facing surgury that could cause me to go into labor. I have been stressed/worried all day with the news but the staff of drs, surgeons and nurses have been amazing and supportive. On another note I will be happy when I am able to eat again (i cant even have ice chips). Anyways, please keep my family, myself and baby skylar in your thoughts/prayers.

Thank you everyone. I was actually able to get some rest. Just started my 2nd iv dose of potassium and omg does it burn. After this dose then it is back to the many selections of antibiotics they are using. White blood cell count has dropped which is good. So hopfully surgury can be ruled out. And we are just hoping for some more answers soon.

I'm so sorry, you, your little one and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully your appendix responds to the antibiotics. (I know that appendix issues are very painful and serious). And your doctor's can get your pre e under control as well.

UPDATE: baby Skylar is doing great. Hospital rolled me over to evms for my ultrasound of her and everything was great, my evms dr said pre-e was not possible because kidneys/liver and bp was great. However we just found out that my 24hour urine test came back elevated so now the question is why. Also the white blood count is going back up which questions if the enlarged appendix is appendicitis. Hoping to have definite answers of what will be done soon.

Hey everyone. After multiple debates between the surgeon and my ob and evms dr. We finally decided on surgury to remove the appendix was the best option and found a surgeon who was confident in performing the procedure. Everyone prepared us for the worst but baby Skylar Hope remained a fighter and she stayed put. I am now finally home with my family and with skylar safe in the womb. Thank you Everyone for the thoughts and prayers thoughout the tough week. Now to countdown to her due date Jan. 11Th.
