I recently jumped on board, because I feel like I've packed on some iches since weaning G man.
I've done better this week, but it is my first full week of really making an effort to improve my diet. I met my goal of not ordering any takeout and cutting my carb intake. We're planning on having a date night tomorrow and it will be hard to order all the fried things. I've been craving cheese sticks like it is my job.
I made some sauteed cabbage this week that was really tasty (if you like cabbage). Simply shred, sauteed in olive oil in a heavy pot for 20 minutes or until tender. Add salt and cracked pepper. Next time, I'll add some onion.
We do cabbage a lot. For something different you can also add some thin apple slices to the cabbage.... Goes great with pork.
I will be joining this group soon. I plan on starting back on WW on Monday because I am so tired of not being able to fit in to any of my pre-pregnancy clothes. The plan has been to get serious about losing weight and getting back to exercising once we moved in to our house. Now that we've done that, I feel like I am in the right place to start. Luckily my new neighborhood has some jogging/walking trails that will be good to test out our new jogging stroller on.
My favorite veggie side is sweet potato hash, which I got from Real Simple magazine. Grate 2 medium sweet potatoes in a food processor Chop 2 large shallots Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat Add the shallots and cook until they start to brown Add sweet potatoes and cook until tender (@ 7-9 minutes) Add 5-oz package of baby spinach and cook until just wilted (@1-2 minutes)
I did better this week, but still haven't met my short term weight loss goal. We had Mexican food yesterday because I was too tired to cook. Back in the wagon today!
eta: veggies--I like to chop up all our vegetables that are left at the end of the week (carrots, broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes) and toss them with olive oil, salt and pepper. Then I add in some chopped garlic cloves and roast them in the oven on 400 for 20 min. It's easy and keeps us from wasting food.
I did okay this week, not great though. My downfall is still the sweets. I did workout mon, tues, and Wednesday though in an attempt to even things out!
Another dessert--I've been mixing a tablespoon of cocoa powder into a container of Chiobani coconut yogurt. If you like chocolate and coconut, it's amazing.
Didn't do too badly but I find myself snacking a lot when I get home from work and dinner is only 2.5 hours later. I am struggling to drink enough water through out the day, problem is I don't have enough time to pee so therefore I don't want to fill my bladder.
Just realized I never actually checked in. I went for a couple runs this week. Which was really nice. Eating has been very so so. I really need to give up sugar again because I just want it all the time. I'm also really stressed out and want to eat all the carbs to make myself feel better. On the plus side, I have definitely lost a bit of weight. To the point where I'm not fluctuating up to my old weight or even within a pound. I like that.

This looks amazing. I just screen shot this and will def try it. I need to make some eating adjustments. Family pics soon and my bff's wedding next June is motivation enough to start feeling like less of a big slob. I might start lurking this post more often

Shame face. :-S I ate all the fried food at the state fair. Then DD has been cranky/sick so I haven't been to the grocery store. Tomorrow is a new day!
