Booty burn

I have hardly ever had an issue with diaper rash but ever since starting LO on solids it has been horrible. It's like her poop is burning her butt. Anyone else having this issue? Diaper rash cream doesn't seem to be helping that much- I use buttpaste.

  • I use a touch of hydrocortisone a couple times a week when it looks bad. Always helps.
  • I haven't had issues with this LO but my older daughter lived in diaper cream. To be honest, boudreaux's buttpaste never helped us any so my suggestion is to try a different brand if you haven't already. The one that worked for us best was Desitin (the white cream)

I thought of that but I figured there would be other symptoms as well. It doesn't happen everytime but usually once a week and it's a blow out that does it. Doesn't happen consistently with certain foods either.
  • I think we use the triple paste. The extra strength butt paste is what it is. It works good. We use that at night and aquaphor during the morning when I know he poops once or twice, so his butt stays protected kinda.

  • Could it be the diapers? My LO recently started having a burn like reaction to Pampers. We were using them for the first five months, then we had to switch to Luv's, haven't had an issue since.
  • It's old school, but a little baby powder really helped my LO. We only used it while he has diaper rash, not regularly.

  • We do good old fashioned naked booty here. A day with no diaper almost always clears stuff up, better if your house doesn't have carpets.
  • I thought this was going to be about a workout video. I'll add that I like to use a barrier cream overnight or when LO is going to be in his carseat for a longer period of time.
  • We are also team nakie here

Say what?! This sounds adorable yet messy.
We use powder and only break out the butt paste for serious redness.

You do just what @Jessimax‌ does. You just play nakie all day on a water proof flannel.
  • I rinse LO's wipes because he has super sensitive skin. It helps a lot. I don't know why they put a bunch of stuff on wipes, all you need is water.
  • We do a combo of Desitin at night, buttpaste during the day, and Balmex whenever I can't find the other two. I noticed lathering him up real good at night with either Desitin or buttpaste will clear up any signs of rash. I also hear coconut oil works too.
  • Lanolin really helped my first DD. Put the lanolin on her butt, then a thin layer of diaper rash cream. One time, it got real bad and we did nakey time, and put a little baking soda in her bath water along with applying lanolin and cream with every diaper change.
