Anyone doing professional maternity pics? I did last pregnancy but this time we went cheap and just got my mom to take some. POST YOUR MATERNITY PICS! From this pregnancy or previous ones!!!

We had them scheduled for next weekend, at ~26 weeks. But DH has been called out of town and might be gone for 1 or 2 weeks. I emailed her to reschedule for Nov 8, so that would be 28 weeks. Hopefully it works out! how far along were you when you had yours? (I mobile bump so I cant see if you have a ticker, sorry)

And we're trying to figure this out. I really wanted maternity pics done, but it's kinda hard in my situation. I'm trying to figure out if they'll let me up for a quick 30 min session or something and get somewhere to come here and figure out a place for it within the hospital. I don't know. #bedrestissue876

I don't know, that is tough! Does your hospital have a chapel? They usually have some pretty windows (or the ones I've been to) that are non-hospital and not very church like. If you aren't able to get up and go, that might be a pretty non-hospital looking hospital setting?

You could send your honey to scope it out too

@MusicFanatic‌ is there a town park nearby or even just trees or a nice hedge? Or you could do a few indoors if you have a creative photographer. You just need a fancy sheet. Not as fun as outdoor spring and summer pics but still a lot better than hospital waiting room?

I'll share a few from my pregnancy with Nora. I had a mom-tographer friend do them, so they're professionalish. I was happy with them. Also, they were free.

We're doing a 30 minute mini session this time with a local photographer at 30 weeks.

You all look cute! We're saving our money for newborn photos, so I think we'll skip the maternity photos. I've taken a couple (other than the HDBD pics) in case DS wants to see someday what he looked like inside my belly, but other than that, memorializing my appearance at this time in my life is not that important to me.

I do want to do something like this because I think it's cool. (This pic is from Google and just an example - not me.) I thought for sure DS would be late, and then he was 5 days early, and we forgot to do it! So we'll have to remember to take the photo this time.

@MusicFanatic, I know a woman who was high risk, like you and did hers in the hospital courtyard with her husband. It just looks like any other park setting and they even let her stand for a few shots. It was only a short shoot, but she got some images. You could probably do something like that one evening or weekend with your husband, with the autumn leaves and the sunset? One of our photographers (like @TXUltraRunner or @4littlebears might have some ideas).

I'm sure if you contact someone locally they'd have some great ideas! Most hospitals will have a courtyard, or maybe just outside the hospital in a city scene.

Or they could make it really interesting for you and do a maternity ward photoshoot.

Mine will be done on the 19th, which is also the day of my shower! My aunt is coming in from Mississippi and doing mine. She also did my senior pictures two years ago and they were amazing. The best part is that they're free

And she will be coming up when the girls are born to do their newborn pictures and I cannot wait for those! So since she will be leaving Sunday I will have to wait until she gets home to edit them and what not, but I will post them as soon as I get them! I love sharing pictures!

Edit: I'll be 26 weeks!

We'll be doing ours on Nov 9th, I'll be 32 weeks. I tried to wait as long as possible so I'd actually be showing in the pictures without risking going into labor before our shoot happens. Will post once we take them :-D

@MusicFanatic As mentioned before, you could see if the hospital has a courtyard or an outdoor area. Maybe they would let you be wheeled out there in a chair and let you stand for a few pics or if there's a bench or something. If not, maybe you could do a shoot in the hospital in the room and all. It's where your life is right now and might make for some really interesting black and whites. Maybe some of your DH playing guitar for the baby (I think you've mentioned that before) and interacting with your bump. Maybe some near a window if they will let you stand. I do lifestyle photography so I'm all about capturing what's going on in your life in that moment and this is where you're at right now.

Ya'lls picts are fabulous! I'm so relieved to see so many of you doing your mat pics at the end of the second tri. We will be doing ours when I'm 26 weeks and I was getting concerned b/c a lot blogs recommend waiting til around 30 weeks. But I'm loving all the pictures that were posted here!

@MusicFanatic‌ I agree with PP, but also thought you could have your hubby bring in some nice bedding, blankets, pillows, etc. and the photographer can probably do some pretty shots with that.

I do love @TXUltraRunner‌ 's concept of embracing and memorializing your experience of being in the hospital. I'm sure they can get some beautiful shots!

My aunt did mine yesterday after my baby shower! We had planned on doing them before and I definately wouldn't have been so exhausted and would have looked better, but we ran out of time before everybody started showing up!

Wasn't sure I was going to share this, but.. since I talked about pics a lot...

No professional photographer. Just a self timer on my H's camera and a hospital room pic, with the lovely curtains in the background.

Had no idea how it was going to work out, but I kinda bawl happy tears when I see this. So I wanted to share. And since no one here minds those bare belly pics

We took a bunch, but this one is my favorite.
