stomach bug..tmi sorry

I've been sick since friday night. Throwing up, nauseous, diarrhea and horrible belching!! The belching smells like throw up. Dh said he can smell it from across the room.
Any good home remedies? I'm desperate. Dh stayed all weekend taking care of the kids but had to go to work today.
Suggestions would be great! I'm desperate!
I really thought I would kick it by now. I was praying for a 24 hr thing.

  • Try taking some probiotics.

  • Have you tried ginger ale? seriously always helps me. When was the last time you actually threw up? I know this sounds crazy but if its been awhile since you've thrown up try eating chicken nuggets (I usually get mcdonalds) something about the sodium helps. Like I said I know it sounds crazy but it helps me every time.

  • I have some yogurt. I'll try eating that. Right now any food makes me so queasy. I haven't thrown up for 24 hrs now but I feel like I could.

Don't eat dairy. Try something starchy and salty like crackers. Please don't eat yogurt. If you throw it up it will be terrible.

  • I would do the BRATT diet until you really start to feel better. Foods that are easier on your stomach will help you feel better than regular foods will. You could also get some airborne or emergen-c. Both of those are probiotics I think and have butt loads of vitamin c and what not to help you fight off your infection. Ginger ale and sprite always seem to help me feel better too. Lastly, for the belching and indigestion I always use gaviscon (almost like a liquid form of tums). Tums make me feel worse the second I put that chalky nastiness in my mouth. Gaviscon has always been my go to and worked better for me.

I just had the stomach flu a couple of months ago so it's pretty fresh how much it SUCKS! Hope you start to feel better soon.

  • Thanks everyone! I have been doing the brat diet. I'll keep it up. I also have some emergenc that I'll try. I've been drinking sprite & Gatorade. Its just so hard being sick BC you still have to care for the kids. Unfortunately dh couldn't miss work today

TV is your best friend today ;) Seriously though, when I was sick, it was all survival mode. A few days on mindless entertainment won't hurt them. Just rest up as much as you can.
