Birthday sticky?

I don't remember which BMB I saw this on but they had a sticky post that had when baby was born. I hope we don't need this anytime soon but it might not be a bad idea to add one? Does anyone else like this idea?

If it's been brought up before I apologize for the duplicate.

Most basic info would just be baby's birthday and sex. Then additional if bumpie felt like sharing could be babies stats, name, and birth type (c section, natural, water birth etc).

I agree that everyone should be able to AW, but it would also be neat to see who all has had their LO and all that stuff.

I know it would mean more work for just a few, but could just add a few columns to the blog for it?

I think it's on O14 but I could be wrong. It's not a bad idea but I also think people will still AW either way. Plus @twolittledogs‌ really hates the sticky ;-)

I love reading the birth announcement stickies on other boards. They normally have a rule of no other comments/ love its only (to keep it from getting cluttered) and people link to their AW post/ birth stories.

Oh I didn't mean for it to replace the AW posts people will be doing. That would be impossible to stop lol and it's fun! This is more just a running tally like the name posts (though not sticky), team green/pink/blue (in the blog) etc. I think it was N14 I saw it on actually.

It's unfortunate that they've already had to add babies birthdays to the list but it seemed like a nice place to kind of "roll call".

But if it's a ton of work for someone to do I understand. Can only MODS edit stickies? I'd be willing to volunteer to help keep it updated if that helped at all. Or again. If it's really not something people like it's no biggie

So I'm bumping this up again. Anyone want to do this or did we decide not to?
If anyone is uncomfortable with leaving their baby's birthday info then they simply don't need to leave it.

I think it would be fun to see the list grow of babies as they are born.

Personally, I like the way N14 has theirs. The Birth Announcement Thread is just that, a simple birth announcement. I like the basics there and then all who have had their babies get their AW moment when the post their birth story. I know TLD is against stickys and I do agree, some of the boards are overboard with stickys, but I like the Birth Announcement one.

One of us could start and maintain one, it just doesn't be a sticky.

I love the birthday sticky on N14. I second the vote that we have one...with identical rules, etc., so no comments to clutter it up.

PS, since we have our first D14 baby (Juniper!), I also vote it gets started asap, as I'm sure there will be others to follow in the coming days/weeks.

Well. I don't think she flat out refused to do it. She said she doesn't like it. I'm not trying to battle anyone here, and certainly not TLD

but she is the moderator. She "moderates" the board when there are things happening that go against policy or you know,...someone decides to post pictures of their vaginal secretions (I just puked a little).
I could be way off base here, and if I am I know someone will correct me, but I don't think she "gets the final say" just because she wouldn't want her info on the list.

@twolittledogs can we please pretty please make a birth announcement sticky? It can be the same rules as N14 so it doesn't turn into an advertisement for creepers.
