Honest Company though I have a cache of cloth on hand. MIL has been sending us a subscription for diapers and wipes from the HC, so it's hard to pass up!
Pamper Swaddlers, I bought Baby Dry once and had blow outs everyday. They don't have the stretchy part on the back and they seem to run smaller than the Swaddlers. I've been meaning to try the Up&Up brand, how do they compare to pampers?
I switch between pampers baby dry, swaddlers, and huggies. Haven't really noticed one being better/worse. I'm still working my way through diapers we received as gifts...hence the brand switching. Not sure what kind I will purchase when I have to buy some...
Target. We tried cloth and when we switched to formula he got super or something and my wash regimen no longer cut it, he was getting amonia burns. I need to strip but haven't had time and with my PPD something had to give, so I went back to disposables. I still have all the diapers and plan to take a weekend soon and strip them all. Then I'll decide if I want to sell them or try again. Until then, my baby is target branded.
Pampers swaddlers or up. And up. Just bought a small bag of pampers baby dry, but now I'm worried they'll be too small. I think we're in between sizes now.
Pampers swaddlers size 2 for daytime and we were using Luvs nighttime diapers (size 2) but I didn't love them and she kept waking up wet so I just picked up a pack of Pampers baby dry in size 3 to see if that works better.
Yep. We've used them for both DS1 and DS2 and have maybe had 2 blowouts - ever - between both kids. Plus, it makes frequent Target trips a requirement and I'm all about that.
I use Pampers Swaddlers during the day and Baby Dry at night. I did not like Huggies. Luvs work pretty well and I'm not sold either way on Wal-Mart brand Parents Choice. We use Amazon Mom so we'll likely stick with the Pampers.
Up&Up brand. Size 2 during the day and size 3 overnights for nighttime. I was using pampers at first since people bought us so many and I find that up&up keeps her much more dry at night.
@Jmejolee83 Swaddlers are pampers "premium" brand while baby dry are their "cheaper" ones. The baby dry feel a bit cheaper/papery while the swaddlers (and the cruisers) are softer. I use both. I think the baby dry run a tad smaller so I use those a lot when we just switch into a size or I'll use baby dry during the day and the swaddlers or cruisers once they're bigger at night because they seem to hold a bit more. The premium ones tend to have a bit more stretch than the baby dry too.
@mullenem OK, am I doing it wrong? I thought the Baby Dry ones were meant for nighttime (don't their commercials say that? I know the packaging does) We use Swaddlers during the day, and I have tried using them at night and they didn't keep her very dry. Sigh... I am never going to get this right!
Been using Pampers Swaddlers and am working through a box of Luvs we were given. I'm planning on trying the Costco diapers next.
@CAMag - I just saw Bambo diapers at Costco - holy crap those are expensive!
ETA - Public Service Announcement - for those using the Kirkland's diapers from Costco, they have a $5 off coupon right now, so a box of 136 is just $14.99 ($0.11/diaper). I'm ordering a case to try.
I love the costco diapers and yes they are on sale, just got a case yesterday.
@mullenem OK, just disregard my little freakout there, then. I just need sleep. I will keep that in mind about the cruisers, too. We are in size 3's at night now so I will see how the BD do and then maybe try those next.
My grandma very generously bought us diapers while I was pregnant. She bought all different kinds so we have Huggies, Pampers, 7th Generation, and Luvs. Switching around doesn't seem to bother her skin. When we run out of what we have, I'll probably buy Honest diapers because I don't like the chemically smell. My husband thinks I'm crazy for saying the diapers smell because he said all diapers smell.
Cloth and disposables. We haven't settled on a brand for 'sposies yet. We have used Target brand, pampers swaddlers, Kirkland (costco brand), Huggies, Luvs, and Comforts for Baby(Kroger brand). Blowouts seem to occur most when we are between sizes.
@kaysa2 I love the honest wipes. Also love the sizing. The only time we've had blowouts was when we needed to move up a size. J always moves up 2 pounds before the max (like size 2 fits to 18 pounds but he will need to move to size 3 at 16 pounds).
We use Luvs. Have tried both Pampers and Huggies, but neither work well for our baby. She's in Huggies currently because the store was out of Luvs, and every time she has a wet diaper it leaks. We're having to change her outfit 3-5 times per day because of it, and our own if she is sitting on our lap while it happens.
We started w/ Pampers swaddlers but the dry weave material would stick to her & cause redness. The baby dry ones didn't keep her dry and had lots of blowouts w/ huggies so we tried Target brand and they're awesome! Not as cute as the other diapers but really, they're just getting tossed in the trash.
We use all the kinds of disposables. We have diapers from all over the world thanks to a diaper hook up I have. C is currently using Merries, a japaneese diaper brand.
I love the Up & Up diapers! With DS, we tried out pretty much all the different diaper types (including the pricier name brands) and liked Up&Up at least as well, if not better than all the others. So DD has been in them since she was born and we still love them!
I used to use huggies with my first baby and part way through my second baby then I tried Target brand and never went back! Love them and love the price.
We've recently been trying different brands actually. We had been using Pampers Swaddlers (I had always loved them with DD) but DS has at least 1 huge poo blowout every day. So far the only ones that hasn't resulted in a blowout has been the Honest Co size 3. I think we're going to continue with these. They seem to fit much better as well, plus they come in cute designs (bonus!)
Pampers all the way! We've tried Huggies and Costco brand diapers and had blowouts nearly every poop diaper in them. Pampers, never, except when we needed to move up a size.
Sooooo we are thinking of giving up on cloth diapers. Right now we have a diaper service through a great, local, small company. The only cloth they offer is a prefold. DD's skin seems to be sensitive to friction/temperature, but not detergents. For example when we hold her when she naps, her cheek can get very red, just from having her in our arms. We are now finding with the cloth diapers that she is prone to rash on her butt and around her waist from the cloth. No matter how quickly we change her, she is more rash prone in cloth.
There might be other cloth diapers out there that work, but we haven't looked into it...has anyone else not had cloth diapers work out for their LO? @chickpea912 any thoughts?
@Mease8 She might do better with a diaper that has a stay dry liner - pocket diapers are one such option. If you're thinking of trying something before tossing in the towel, I'd get one or two different ones - I'd suggest a Bumgenius 4.0 pocket and a Blueberry Deluxe Pocket, and just see how they do for you. They won't have the wet fabric against them, like the prefold will have, so it might make a difference.
I'm so amused with all the responses here... just proves that every baby is different! Huggies leaked terribly for us, so I use Pampers Swaddlers during the day, and Baby Dry overnight.
