Almost on Cape Cod for my roomie from college's wedding. The other other person I know for sure is going that I enjoy is leaving at 7, which sucks but hopefully will still be fun!
@CeeShellz The temperature is about the same, maybe slightly cooler. The humidity is killer though! Last night at the wedding everyone was literally soaked. Hair wet, shirts drenched. It looked like we all had just gotten out of the pool.
The beaches are pretty though. It's a lot more green than OC, and there are trees that go right up to the water in some areas. I'll show you pics.
At the airport on our way home from Disney World. So sad vacation is over. G was such a trooper the whole trip. Took two naps a day in his stroller, rode a bunch of rides with us, and loved meeting Winnie the Pooh.
It was a little tough flying, because we have so much crap. We had no car so I packed all food, diapers and formula. Gah.
Another afternoon traveling in the car. We were back home for my husband's grandma's funeral. We were able to visit my family too and my sister announced they are expecting their 4th! So excited! Little man has been out of sorts the past few days so it will be nice to get back into our routine again. I love the fall weather! Hope everyone gets a good nap in today
@MotherEFFingKatie have you tried Premsyn? It works best for cramps as far as OTC options. Not sure if there are any ingredients that would be a problem for you. In CA they carry it at Walgreen's and CVS.
I started the day with my mom calling me hysterical because our family dog (boxer) was up all night having seizures. She called the emergency number for our vet and we took her in. She's had a stroke and because of that her face is droopy and it seems like she's list use of her tongue so she's struggling to eat and drink. Weight if just falling off of her..
She's 12. Which is great for a boxer! My vet was gently trying to prepare my mom that if her blood work comes back bad and she doesn't start eating and drinking (we're softening her food and offering small portions at a time) then putting her down may be the nicest thing we can do for her. But brandy (the dog) was given to her by my grandma for taking care of my aunt when she was dying. My mom always wanted a boxer! So the dog means a lot to her! And we're approaching the anniversary of my aunts death so mom is just devastated. Hopefully the blood work comes back good and we can get weight back on her!
Wow that was long.. Sorry.
After all that I took the announcement pictures for my brother and his wife's pregnancy! I'll share one in group later. I'm so excited to be an aunt!!!!!
Now I'm just relaxing on the couch while peach naps on me.
I have a Wawa pin with my name and manager on it because one time when I was drunk in Wawa, they let me go in the back and touch stuff. So I made a pin.
It's a great company to work for. I took classes with a number of employees. Wawa paid for their MBAs.
It really is wonderful. I would have stayed there but we moved for dhs job.
@MelloChello Are you still working on songs for the wedding? Add Livin' On A Prayer to the list.
Is there ever a wedding where this isn't played and all the white kids are drunk and nostalgic for their youth?
Exactly. It needs to be played. It's a sure bet, just like Journey. All the white people that have been sitting down all night will have an overwhelming urge to dance and sing along.
Columbus Day but we are just off because we had requested the PTO. We work for an insurance company; those bloodsucking leeches aren't super generous with holidays.
@j0509 ok, I'm an idiot. Earlier when you posted it confused me. Until today I had never known about Canadian Thanksgiving.
I know my way to my aunt's house in NJ by the Wawa locations. The best.
I'm in Wisconsin visiting my 98 year old grandma since she doesn't travel..tomorrow we are living it up and heading to Red Lobster (her choice), she is adorable.
Also a sign that I am old..on our flight a sorority girl (flying in slippers, leggings, and her letters) had the balls to recline her seat into me and my giant baby. She is lucky there was an empty seat next to me and J was asleep, because we basically couldn't move (I'm 6'1). I was cursing her the whole time, but thankfully woke up and put her seat up half way through. I did not try to control my kid from banging on her seat the rest of the trip though and loudly mentioned to the flight attendant that the spirit flyer says their seats don't recline to save money.
I also may have been that girl flying hungover a decade ago, but I like to hope I wouldn't have reclined..
People who recline are the worst. Everyone sit up and be uncomfortable together! To me, reclining isn't even more comfortable.
Watching the news about the sperm whales in Dana Point and all this talk of Irvine pumkins has me missing home! I am stuck living in the midwest because of DH & SD but I wish I was in Cali! I wish my son could appreciate the ocean like I do. DH doesn't like water he can't see the bottom of so he would prefer we never take a beach vacation. Ok maybe this is the beer making me emotional.
SFFC: born and raised in SoCal and I don't like the beach. If I never saw it again, that would be perfectly fine.
@cagoldi I worked for an insurance company before becoming SAHM. They were so stingy with holidays, PTO, and sick time. I was 2 minutes late once..literally 2 minutes. You would have thought the world was ending.
@flamingosrpink Thankfully they aren't on top of me like that. I did just lose my manager though, so who knows what the new hire will bring us.
We actually do get pretty generous PTO grants so I probably shouldn't complain. I have 23 days a year. No sick time though, everything just comes out of your accrued PTO.
@LJGS1010 Yup, we're starting to hit the same stage. Not easily redirected any longer. Have you given baby sign language a shot? I've found it helps with a lot of the whining because they can communicate before they can talk. Not do much the tired stuff, though. Whoever figures out how to get a tired kid not to whine should win a Nobel peace prize.
We haven't, but that's a good idea.
What's the sign for "come on, mom, I really want to play on the fireplace and you're soooooo mean to redirect me?"
We need that one but doggy door instead of fireplace..
Re: Sunday stuff.
He will nap while I hold him. Gah.
It's hotter than the surface of the sun here! Probably driving to Miami now, and maybe we'll try to find a ghost tour.
Have a good Sunday everybody!

It's a nice place except for the humidity.
It was a little tough flying, because we have so much crap. We had no car so I packed all food, diapers and formula. Gah.
@yez9 that's awful.
Thanks @Mommyxtwo1113! I love that dress to pieces.
@JoeLies I love my dude but man, what I wouldn't give to have him be such a champ at sleeping like C! Also, now I'm craving grilled cheese.

I just wanted to thank you all for helping me hone my finely tuned snark skills.
I TL;DR'd him and I'm pretty sure his head exploded.
