T&Ps for my friend (terrifying labor story inside) UPDATE

My best friend went into labor Friday and by Saturday morning they determined her baby girl was "stuck" and she needed a c-section.
She started hemorrhaging during the section and has required over 14 units of blood and ended up intubated in the ICU.

Baby miraculously survived and his perfectly healthy.

They let my friend wake up and took her breathing tube out this morning. But she's still catheterized and has a balloon in her stomach to stop the bleeding. At some point they have to take the balloon out and if it starts rebleeding she will have to have an emergency hysterectomy.

This is her first baby. I'm at a complete loss for words and have cried my eyes out all morning.

  • Glad everything is ok! I know sometimes I forget just how dangerous child birth is! I'm glad she doesn't need a hysterectomy though since it's only her first. (Assuming she wants more children)
