Petite & Maternity Clothes

Hey!
I tried to search to see if this has been asked already and came across nothing...so, I was wondering if there were any other petite ladies here who have had success finding well-fitting, cute maternity clothes.
I'm 5'1 and usually about 100 lbs. I am forever stuck shopping in the juniors department (that's what happens when you're built like a 12 year old) - and, logically, the junior department does not offer maternity clothes.
This is my 3rd child; but with my son I was in college and just rocked yoga pants and sweatshirts my whole pregnancy and with my daughter we were planning on moving, so I quit my job about 4 months into my pregnancy so again, I was able to wear just yoga pants and leggings the whole time.
I teach, so that wardrobe is a no-go this time around.  But, I cannot find ANYTHING that fits!
ANY help would be appreciated!

Re: Petite & Maternity Clothes

  • I don't wear petite, but I just bought some maternity clothes from the Gap this weekend and I know they offer various lengths of pants (ankle, regular and long length). they have a relatively good selection as far as maternity clothes go so that may be a good place to check out.

  • Motherhood maternity has small sizes that fit me (I weigh 115).  Their jeans/pants come in short, regular and long.  Hope that helps!
  • Motherhood has pants in petite. I'm about your size, and the xs petite jeans are still a little big on me at 19 wks, so I'm hoping I'll grow into them. I also found some designer jeans for really cheap on postmark that were barely worn, and already hemmed.
  • I am 5'2" and was 105 before pregnancy. I'm 19 weeks and 112 now. Motherhood Maternity's petite xs suit pants fit perfectly. I haven't tried their jeans because spending $40 for one pair of work pants was painful... BUT they fit and my boss appreciates me being in pants that aren't always undone. I'm guessing their jeans run roughly the same size? Good luck!
  • H&M has super cute maternity stuff that work for petites.
  • I was teaching with my last pregnancy, and wore a lot of leggings and sweater dresses. I got most of it from the junior's section. Jersey dresses worked well too. I'm 5'2 and 106...
  • I've been having a really hard time finding pants to fit me as well(tried Old Navy(too big), H&M(too tight), Motherhood (thought it was low quality for the price, might buy on sale). Finally found one pair yesterday at Gap that fit and were cute. Generally these would be too $$ for me, but the whole store was 40% off.

I have been wanting to try to Loft Maternity line, but you can't return anything to the store and I hate paying return shipping so I've been hesitant. If anyone has tried their pants with success, please let me know!

  • I'm 5'2" and have the same problem! I bought petite Jessica Simpson and Blue Indigo jeans from Destination Maternity and I LOVE them!

  • Motherhood/Destination Maternity ... I am very petite. ..their pants are only ones that fit my short legs!
  • Motherhood Maternity is currently having buy one get one 50% off. I went and bought pants for work and they had petite pants as well as long. I am normally a size 10 but ended up getting XL pants,  :((
  • I'm having the same trouble, but I can't wear the petites (34" inseam required) so I just got maternity tights to wear with fall dresses paired with cardigans. Being a teacher that should be appropriate work attire for you. I got my maternity tights from target.

I'm 5'7" and pp 105 size 0Tall/2Tall depending on the brand. Now I'm 115 & size 4 unbuttoned but not quite a size 6 so all I can wear is high rise yoga pants or m-tights.
  • Gap, H&M, Old Navy (they run small), and a Pea in the Pod (on sale)
