BTDT moms: kiddos jumping on the belly

I swear DS knows there is a sibling in my ute and is trying to kill it. He's constantly jumping on me/sitting on me/etc. I try to stop him and redirect or move him to sit beside me. At what point could this actually hurt the LO? Right now baby is tiny and there is a lot of padding so I'm not worried but just curious at what point it would be more concerning.

He also keeps hitting/knocking/kicking my boobs. Ouch. I keep thinking how much more that will hurt after the baby is here and my milk is coming in. The rock hard porn star boobs the first few days were so sore I couldn't even sleep on my side.

Also, this post sounds like my kid is violent but it's all accidental - he just likes to be close to me (and my H). He's a snuggler. Exhibit A:

  • My DD is the same exact way ... that's why we ended up telling her a little earlier than we originally planned.  It's a long time to wait for a 3 year old, but being able to remind her to be careful because of the baby has really helped.  I'm pretty sure she wasn't doing damage, but I figured better safe than sorry.  My kid isn't violent either, but she does love to run head first into me and throw herself on me ... she's kind of a bruiser :)

  • I can't believe that it could ever really hurt the baby, but it still sucks! We also told DD early for this reason, which helped a lot. Also, if she won't stop when reminded, I just walk away. Sometimes I go to my room and close the door. She hates being separated from me, so at this point one reminder is enough. Much easier than wrestling her into time out, and time out also seems mean when she's just trying to cuddle.

  • No advice. My kid is not a snuggler :((

But I think it would take a lot to injure the inside baby at any stage in pregnancy (they are well protected in there). I would just remind your son to "be gentle with mommy." As you get bigger I'm sure he'll be able to remember more easily.

  • I think the baby is always fine. It's us that feel the pain! At least that is what I hope because my daughter definitely got sat on and kicked the whole 9 months in the womb.

  • I get this--and I'm not worried about babies but it's damn uncomfortable for me. Every time I lay down it's because I'm feeling queasy/exhausted/headachy, so not in the mood for cuddling. I haven't told DD yet but she has started wanting to cuddle all the time. I tell her no and she lays on the other side of the couch cushion and smooshes into me. Blah. So no advice, but I feel ya.
  • Sorry, this was a bit of a p&r earlier.

He's only 15 months so I'm not sure he will understand me saying there's a baby in my tummy, but I will try the "be gentle with mommy" approach and see how it goes. Good to know that it's not something to worry about re: it hurting the baby, even later in the pregnancy.

  • Mine just did this yesterday.  Definitely hurt.  I had to explain to DD that she needs to be careful with mommy until the baby is here.

  • I asked my doctor if this was dangerous as my DD is rambunctious. She said the force of a toddler is unlikely to hurt the baby. She wasn't concerned at all.

  • I hear ya- My 3yo loves to jump on my belly, or if I'm laying on the couch to climb all over me and squish between me and the couch - just what I want I want when I'm not feeling well :) luckily my 15 mo is not into that (yet). I try to tell him mommy's belly hurts, but he's oblivious. Maybe I should start talking about the baby? I thought it might be too soon, but I'm almost 13 wks and in the process of coming out.
