Tall Maternity Dresses?

I have searched ALL over the internet and I can't seem to find anyone that sells Maternity Dresses for Taller women. I have very long legs and a regular size dress that hits someone at the knee, hits many inches above that for me. Any suggestions? I would love some dresses I can wear to church and feel good in.

Re: Tall Maternity Dresses?

  • I'm only 5'7 and all the maternity dresses I've tried on were shorter than I would like. I hit a good sale on Old Navy maxi dresses, not maternity but flowy enough to accommodate a growing bump. Perhaps you could pair them with cardigans for church?

  • Six footer popping in from January to say good luck and a request for a pm with a shop name if you find anything wonderful.

I just resort to wearing leggings under my dresses and pretending I like that look.

I may have to go look at their normal tall section again and see if they have any empire waist maxi dresses. I wore a Pique knit dress today and it will be the last time I can squeeze into it till after the baby comes. It hits me at the knee exactly and I didn't feel like my butt was being shown each time I went to sit down LOL

Will do! Please share if you happen across any as well :)

I'm 5'11 and have this problem a lot too. I often look at the style instead of just tall sizes. Sometimes the style of the dress is just meant to be short and it'll end up being indecently short on me. Obviously i shop a lot online (old navy, gap) and they do have tall sizes sometimes. Just depends on the item. I don't wear a lot of dresses, but my maternity ones from kohls and target have been longer. I get empire waist ones and the dress part hangs lower until you get a big belly to fill it out.
I am just 3 inches shorter than you and I get the "indecently short" feeling of most maternity dresses. Last Sunday I had to make sure I grabbed the bottom of my skirt to make sure my butt was covered when I went to sit down. I swear I tried it on in the store and seemed fine.

  • ASOS seems to have some tall maternity dresses.

  • Old Navy has some tall wrap dresses. I've worn those until the 3rd tri... then they start to ride up in the front. Other than that, non-maternity sweater dresses with opaque tights or leggings worked great for me. I picked up 2 pairs of Long Tall Sally maternity leggings. They must be getting rid of them because they only have XS in stock now: https://us.longtallsally.com/p/tall/bump-maternity-leggings-13Y17#13Y17BLA

  • ASOS maternity has a ton of cute stuff.
  • I'm just under 5'11.  For work, I wear dresses from Isabella Oliver (online: https://www.isabellaoliver.com).  You can also get some stuff through a pea in the pod.  They are a bit $$, but you can wear them well into nursing as well.

The leggings idea is also great when you can be casual...I don't have that luxury at work.  When you're done, you can always put them on ebay.

  • If you're crafty, you could try your hand at sewing one, or at a min, sewing a maxi skirt long enough for your frame. Lots of great ideas on Pintrest, and with a solid color fabric, most patterns are very forgiving (good for beginners).

  • I broke and purchased leggings today and a pair of skinny jeans. My Mom was amazing and found some cute maternity dresses (my current location lacks significantly in cute clothes). So I hopped online today and picked up leggings. Guess I will pretend to love that look for a while ;)

  • I'm 5'9" so not quite as tall. I just purchased 4 maternity maxi dresses online from Target and they are a bit too long for me.
