I'm ready for a break!AW

after a lot of thinking I've decided that next month will be my last treatment cycle until the beginning of next year I felt miserable for the last 6 months with the worrying and the treatments and the Meds. I have basically been faking my way through life for the last two weeks. Pretending to be happy all the time takes a lot out of you! Im sure many of you can relate. It seems everywhere I turn someone else I know is pg. Im just so over it can I just get a reality raincheck and sit this one out? I know that the fat lady hasnt sang yet this cycle but 10dpo (12dpt) with a bfn the introduction has been made she is center stage and the music has begun. /endrant

I'm so sorry you're feeling so down, Autumray! I really hope you get a nice surprise this month. But after all those treatment cycles this year, I can see how a break over the holiday season could be really welcome!

I hope you are able to find plenty of loving, understanding people to share your true feelings with and to be a real support for you. It's amazing how strong you've been through so much.

Take a break, Autumn! We would love for you to stick around, though, if you want. I'm not in treatment and neither are a couple others, but we are still active, so don't feel the need to stop posting because of a break. There is even a weekly "Benched" check in and people on break fall under that check in.

Girl I TOTALLY feel you!!! We just started a break and already it has worked wonders for my sanity. This is the first cycle since July that I haven't been on meds, and for the first time, I'm not losing my mind!!! It's like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can be me again. I've felt like while dealing with IF, I've lost myself. We're planning on staying benched until January or February, but that all depends on what the urologist finds. I say take a break and enjoy the holidays!! GL to you

Taking a break is hard because you feel like you're "wasting time", but honestly, it's needed sometimes. I am so thankful I've had a break since deciding to move on to IVF. The 2 IUI cycles took a huge toll on me and wore me out physically and emotionally. As much as I wanted to rush right into IVF, I'm glad it didn't work out that way.

Take a break and regroup. Not having any appointments for awhile can do wonders and make you more prepared for the next cycle. Instead of IF appts, I made appts for facials, hair, nails, waxing, whatever to make myself feel better because once IVF starts, there's no time for that!

You need to worry about yourself too! If that means taking a break then go for it! Sit back and do things you really enjoy doing. Take some date nights with your DH and just have fun. Hugs!!

Take a break, Autum! We are on one until January and I feel so much better. Human again. I know it seems like an eternity, but the new year will be here before you know it. It will be nice to actually be able to focus on the holidays!

Definitely take a break to regroup! There's only so much a person can take ....this IF stuff will burn you out. I'm on a break (not by choice, I'm waiting for surgery). But I have to say, it's done wonders for my sanity.

Thanks guys helps to hear from peoplewho can relate. I dont know anyone IRL dealing with IF so they cant figure out why I want a break. So this def makes me feel like its a good decision.

Taking a break is a very healthy decision. I'm sorry you're at this point (hugs), but you can't keep going like this if you're run down. Give yourself permission to take some time off and refocus.
