Maxi Cosi Pria

Does anyone have this car seat?  I need 2 convertibles, one for each car, and we already have the Britax Marathon.  The Maxi Cosi Pria just went on sale on Amazon and comes with a $25 gift card.

I've heard it's a good one - any thoughts from current users?

  • Eh. Getting him in and out of the seat was an absolute disaster. I don't know if our seat was a fluke, but it was almost impossible to tighten the harness, equally impossible to loosen it, and every time we buckled or unbuckled him, I felt like I was shoving his poor balls into his brain.

I would literally break a sweat trying to get him in and out of the seat. We used it for about a week and I sent it back.

We ended up getting a Clek Foonf for a little less than we paid for the Pria and I think it's great. It's super safe, super easy to get him in and out of, sits up high so he can look out the window, and (I think) has the highest rear facing weight.

All that being said, I know a lot of people who LOVED their Pria and we absolutely loved our Mico.
  • I have the Pria 85 and really like it. They must have fixed some issues from the Pria 70. The 85 has a cover that comes off and is machine washable. It also has harness strap holders so getting LO in and out of the seat is pretty easy. Tightening/loosening the straps are easy as well. So I don't think I would go with the Pria 70 but the 85 has been good for us.

  • @nofcksgiven is the Foonf as hard feeling as it seems?
  • He is so cute!! And nice and clean, crust and dirt free. ;)

I had just given him a bath in the Target bathroom.
  • Just wanted to say we love our Pria 70. For those having trouble with he headrest not staying up, call the company! Our first one had that issue and I didn't notice until my daughter was out of the tiny fit (the headrest sits on the tiny fit so I didn't realize). Even though it was after the warrenty was up, the company still sent me a new seat with no hassle at all. And in the new one the headrest works pefectly. As does the one in my mother's car which is how I knew the origional one wasn't normal. We wash the seat on the handwash setting on our washer. It isn't ideal, but we love everything else about the seat and it fits rear facing in our very small back seat, so it's a compromise we're willing to make. We just used the amazon sale/giftcard to upgrade my daughter to a Pria 85 (with washable cover!) so the baby on the way will be able to have the 70 with the tiny fit. It's a great promotion I think considering it was almost impossible to find one on sale when my daughter was born.
