Cramping anyone??

edited October 2014 in June 2015 Moms
Hello everyone! I am a first time mom and only about 4 weeks pregnant. Is anyone else having bad cramping but no spotting? The dr said it was normal as long as there is no spotting.. So excited for the first appt..

Re: Cramping anyone??

  • I'm not currently experiencing either symptom, but yes, go to the ER if bleeding coincides with your cramping. It could very well just be ligaments and such moving around, so try not to read into it too much :-) Congrats

Try drinking more water. I worked in the OBGYN clinic and labor and delivery for 4 years while in the Air Force, and we would always inform our preggo ladies to drink more water when they had cramping/contractions. Amongst other things, dehydration can cause these symptoms. It may help. I would still call your OB doc as a precautionary measure to be on the safe side.

Hope you get some relief soon.

  • I'm about 5 1/2 weeks along and I've got them too. I was worried at first but it seems to be pretty common
  • Yes, cramping is super normal in early pregnancy. Lots of stretching and changing going on. Drink water, take it easy, and try to not worry.

  • Yes, I'm 5 weeks and have cramping. I know it's a common early symptom, but it's still a bit scary. Seeing my doc today.
  • Im 6 weeks and ive been cramping for two weeks tried everything, and nothinf seems to work.
  • First time mummy due 4.6.15 I'm 6 weeks today and had cramping and spotting/discharge. Had scan yesterday but have to go back next week as to early to see if there is a heartbeat. Trying to stay positive :-)
  • I've been cramping as well (6 wks). I know it's normal so I just keep reminding myself that the baby needs room to grow! It's super hard not to worry, but try not to!

  • I'm 6weeks and I have experienced some mild cramping from time to time but I related it to implantation. I didn't think about the stretching of my uterus. I think the cramping was worst with my first two pregnancies.
  • I had some one-sided twinges and cramping early on (4 weeks) and it went away and just yesterday (6 weeks) had some mild period-like cramping for a little bit and it went away.  I think cramping off and on is normal.  I've found that hydrating and resting when I feel the cramps helps a bit.
  • Hi ladies!!! My husband and I are pregnant with our first baby. Im so excited. Yes i had tons of cramps some were pretty bad but no blood. The dr said it was normal. Im at week 6 tomorrow and my cramps are not really around anymore. I only get a few here and there . hopefully thats normal.
  • Cramping YES! 6 wks today and my body is going by the book of preggers symptoms. Constipation and the pain of which (so I've been told by mothers) is comparable to labour
  • Just drink water when you're cramping. It's helped me (6 wks) every time I start to cramp.

I hope what you've been told is true! I like to think I have a high pain tolerance but wow! I had a little cry this evening wondering how I'm going to handle labor if this what week 4/5 feels like
  • Thank you ladies so much!! I talked to my doctor and they said yes it was completely normal!! So yay!! I didn't think about the uterus stretching either! Sounds like it should go away soon hopefully. That's the only discomfort other than my boobs hurting.
  • I am about 5 weeks as well and I had a miscarriage a year ago. I had bleeding but no cramping. I started having some mild cramps today and it has me a bit panicked. Any advice would be awesome!
  • I started cramping with no bleeding before I found out I was pregnant. The cramps were like period cramps but worse. I found out when I was 1-2 weeks! So mine started early! Mine actually woke me up this morning!! Are you late for your period?

I'm 6weeks 2 days and I cramp everyday. It feels like menstrual cramps. My doctor said its normal. But it's been weeks. I have no bleeding or spotting. I get kinda worried because I've had a Miscarriage at 10 weeks. Keep us in your prayers :)
  • Anyone else experiencing one sided cramps? I had them in my lower abdomen this past week, similar to menstrual cramps, but less severe... Today they seemed to have gone away a bit, but now I have lower left side pain only and it has me worrying...
  • 5w 5d and have periodic cramping as well!! The doctor said it is normal as long as there is no bleeding and you are not doubled over in pain. My first appointment not till 11/4 wayyyyyy to far away!! Going crazy waiting!!
  • I've had my cramps wake me up too, its terrible.

  • I have had cramping (except for today) since Friday, with spotting. Ended up the ER and hcg is starting to go down, I am most likely having a miscarriage...

    Good luck to you all!!
