Super human follicles!

I had my CD 10 u/s this am. The follicle ( only one

) is 24mm! So we are triggering tonight for an IUI Saturday morning.

I have scoured the Internet for anything about follicles growing too quickly, and there is nothing! No reason.

so we will see.

That was me last cycle, I actually ovulated on CD10 I think it was with IUI on CD11. Clinic just referred to me as a "good responder".

My last cycle I had 1 15 follie at cd 7. I hadnt started meds just yet though, so we were shocked. I did 2 days of low dose bravelle and then got pregnant with twins(that we lost).. I did IUI on cd 11.

So sorry for your losses.

I think he found the issue not in the size of the follicles, but my body not ovulating them when it should, hence the trigger. He seemed to think that is at least part of the issue. I won't surge naturally until Sunday or Monday most likely

That kind of happened to me last cycle, although they caught it earlier and were able (we think) to hold my enormous lead follicle up with Ganirelix and give a few others a chance to catch up.

I think they failed to notice that I was already working on a dominant follicle before starting the stims (my CD 3 E2 was weirdly high).

Hopefully your super-follicle has a super-egg ready to go and the trigger does the trick for you: good luck Saturday!

I didn't know there was something that could slow the lead follicle, I will suggest that next time if necessary.

On CD 2 I had a 9mm follicle, so the same thing I think happened here. although I'll take 24 over 34 any day. He didn't want to do the mid-cycle any earlier than day 10.

I don't know if the Ganirelix actually slows it so much as stops you from ovulating (it might, though--I'm definitely not an expert), but it can't hurt to ask!

I've had one that was 30 (ouch) and I had a 24 and an 18 this cycle. Cycle day 10 does seem early but maybe that's just how you roll. Do you still get your period about 14 days after ovulation? Sorry, I guess I don't really have an opinion but I wanted to say GOOD LUCK with IUI!!

My nurse said ganirelix will stop you from ovulating prematurely, so like if you have a HUGE lead follicle it will stop that one from ovulating before the others can catch up, so it might mean sacrificing that one for more chances.
