I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa after spotting brown yesterday. Has anyone else been diagnosed? I'm a first time mom and have had a healthy pregnancy so far. They put me on complete pelvic rest, but I'm wondering what other restrictions women have been given? I was also told only walking for exercise. I'm an ER nurse, and want to know what I am not allowed to do at work. Any advice is appreciated! (
I've been put on pelvic rest and so far so good. In most cases, it will just mean you'll need a c-section but definitely keep an eye on any bleeding. Keep the lines of communication open with your doctor. Remember, too, that the placenta can move up off of your cervix. I started out with complete PP and now have partial as it has been moving up.
I second what pp said about them more than often clearing up on their own. I have an anterior placenta which I know is not the same thing but my doc said it'll probably right itself. If not have they told you that you will need a c section? I'm not sure if that's standard but I thought it was the usual protocol. I'd definitely talk to my dr about work restrictions I understand that ER work can be quite strenuous and I'm sure that's a valid concern. Good luck to you
Thank you all so much for the pointers and well wishes!! I'm hoping that it will migrate, but because I'm 17 weeks with complete previa, they didn't seem convinced it would. C-section is most Likely going to happen...which is also scary for me as a first time mom! But the most important thing is the baby looks great!!
FTM as well. I was diagnosed with complete pp at 16 weeks. I was told the same thing...complete pelvic rest and be careful with the weight of the things I pick up or carry. I'm really hoping to find out at my next appt that it's corrected itself. Otherwise, c-section it is,
Re: Complete placenta previa
Most CPs clear up so try to not stress. There is a great resource/group on FB that you can ask questions etc.
I'm an accreta survivor and it's been very informative
