Happy Friday, everyone! This is a check in for anyone trying to be active (even a little bit) during pregnancy. If you're new jump on in.
So, how was your week? Fit in some exercise? Anything giving you trouble?
We are actually going camping this afternoon and I'm really excited. I plan to do nothing but stick my feet the creek, read, and eat s'mores. But I'll sneak in a short hike, too. This got me thinking -
QOTW: Have you fit in a little getaway this pregnancy? If you could slip away to anywhere for a few days, where would it be?

Re: Fit Friday
I'm so happy to finally say I had a good week - I got in 3 walks and a short Pilates DVD. Woo! It had been crazy trying to get enough done at work this week to really get away this weekend (I'm a teacher an October weekends are almost always all grading all the time), so I'm pretty pleased to have gotten in some exercise.
We went to DC early in this pregnancy and it was pretty great. My favorite part was riding bikes everywhere, actually. I'm daydreaming a lot now about Maui (we went last winter and it was amazing!) I think what I really want is how relaxed I felt on that trip. Hopefully I'll get a little taste of that this weekend.
Ps - I ordered a fitness ball this week to sit on, and I had to laugh at the packaging. I don't think I'll be using it like that!
Week was good, made it to the gym 4 times, took a cross circuit class on Tuesday that whooped by butt! So many lunges and squats! My legs were so sore and I had to walk so slow everywhere on Wednesday. I hate looking like the typical waddling preggo lady!
Took a trip to OBX around 20 weeks, then a weekend in Delaware at the beach for 4th of July. Both were nice, but I'd say my real relaxation with my husband has been having him home so much more lately. He got laid off from retail in April then just got a job part time a few months ago to help extend his severance, and these 5 hour shifts he's been working 3-4 days a week make it so much more enjoyable at home. We're able to do so much more together and see each other more that it feels like we're on vacation : ) He just got hired full time retail so I'm glad we'll have more $$ but it's right back to the old days...
I made it to the gym three times this week
We had a short vacation/visit with family and friends in Sept. I wish we had the money for a real vacation...maybe one day.
Didn't really travel this summer. We went to my parents' place for a long weekend when my brother and his family travelled up from PA. It was a very hot weekend but great to see everyone again.
If I could go anywhere? In my current cumbersome and easily tired condition? I think I'd rather stay home... It is Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and we opted out of visiting the inlaws 8 hours away.
I made it to the gym twice...we are tearing up all the floors in our house (all except the bathrooms) so it has been a hectic and exhausting week.
DH and I went on an anniversary road trip from the Midwest to California with stops in 6 different states along the way. We're hoping to go to the city that is just 1.5 hours away at the end of November for the weekend...nothing major, just one last getaway.
Hi all - Just now getting back to camping! Sorry I couldn't reply to your posts earlier. It turns out camping while pregnant is fine, but camping with the dog is tricky. He was not too thrilled about sleeping in a tent
@linden25 Congrats on another good week!
@xc1148 welcome! sorry to hear about the pelvic pain. I hope swimming feels great
@nbateman5 Congrats on a great week! Sorry you ended up more sore than you meant to!
@brookey79 - Another good week! I think Maui in April sounds wonderful. I know some people think it is crazy to travel with baby, but lots of others have told me it is actually easier when they're that small.
@love2travel2014 - Good luck getting back into your routine. Sounds like you started off well already! And Venice is so wonderful. That's one of the places we went on our honeymoon and I just loved it.
@marriedinaugust getting in a little exercise in the pool sounds great. Setting small, do-able goals for yourself is really smart
@apsalartoll It makes sense to be doing some modifications if you were so sore. How do you like your prenatal yoga class?
@mousy345 Congrats on keeping up with your swimming, even if it is slow
Happy belated Thanksgiving!
@drmh22 Wow, sounds like a great roadtrip!
