Am I being paranoid?

Just got a call from the obgyn nurse to come back for a second ultra sound. She said it was totally normal and they just didn't get enough pictures of the heart. My ultra sound tech was an intern and the baby was moving a lot so I'm hoping this is the reason, but we just found out we are having a girl (we have 2 boys) and are over the moon. I can't help but worry that something might be wrong! Has anyone else had to go back for another ultra sound?

I'm sure it's probably just something harmless like PP mentioned, I'd try not to worry and focus on the fact that you get to see your LO again =]

Yes it is normal. My little girl had her face nestled into my hip so they couldn't get good pictures of that. They said that since last U/S we could see her face distinctly and nothing was missing we would just have another U/S after she moved up a little.

if the doctor isn't worried try not to worry.

Totally normal. I have to go back. The way it works with my group, I have access to the actual U/S reports so I know its just couldn't get a good view and nothing is abnormal.

Yep. Normal. I go back next week to do the same. She saw all 4 chambers of the heart, but because she was moving around so much she couldn't see the arteries, etc going to and from the heart. I was also 19 wks +2 when they did it, so some of that stuff wouldn't be as visable.

Normal. I'll be heading back on Monday for another U/S. Baby girl was facing my back with her arm covering her face and wouldn't move at all.
My ob/gyn had told me originally that they check for 23 different things when it comes to development. It makes sense that they may not be able to see all that at one time.

Yep normal. I also have to go back because the tech couldn't get pictures of her heart since she wasn't in the right position. She just wouldn't move

Try not to worry. If they said it is because they didn't get adequate pictures then that is the real reason. Medical professionals don't lie about these things.
