Experience with Strep?

So my now 6 week old was in the pediatrician last Friday because she had this rash that started out looking like baby acne on her face but then spread all over her chest and then back and onto her arms. They did a strep test "to rule that out" but that is what it was. She was put on amoxicillin but there has been no improvement yet. So I called this AM and we are going back in this afternoon, but just wondering if anyone has had experience with strep and what worked for their kiddo. Thanks!

Clomid for 6 cycles starting August 2010- O but no BFP

HSG September 2010 All clear 
1st RE visit May 2011 - IUI#1 June 20, 2011: BFN

    I'm sorry, I can't help.  I'm surprised though... every time I've had strep, they have assured me that babies rarely get strep and not to worry about it.  Poor LO. 
    If they put her on a stronger antibiotic, you might consider asking if there are any probiotics she can take too.  I don't know if there are for babies that young or not.  And if you breastfeed, you might want to take some just in case she does get thrush to help support your nips.

    Yeah it is super rare for infants to get it from what I understand, I have no idea where she got it from, none of us in the immediate family have been sick. So who knows. I just want it to go away, hopefully we get some answers later.

    my 1 year old just had it. He also got scarlett fever to go with it ;/ It took about 4 days of the meds, plus giving mortin every time i was allowed before he started feeling better

    @summererobinson: The only way I knew about it was the scarlet fever type rash! So odd.

    We actually went back to the ped yesterday and at this point her throat did look great, and the NP is thinking that the skin stuff could be a dry skin condition seborrhea - so we are gonna try some new cleansers and see if it clears up, seems like it was just a total fluke that they caught the strep!
