FFFC

How has this not started today? Does anyone have anything juicy they want share?

My FFFC is super lame. I'm still upset about Jillian leaving Biggest Loser. I love her and think she's amazing.

  • I think all kinds of cravings can be controlled with the an adequate amount of self control. I feel like I know too many pregnant women who pull the "hangry" card on a daily basis. Yes you're hungry and your blood sugar is probably low, but your S/O is not your servant and you have no right to treat him like shit because you don't want to get off the couch. *directed towards DH's friend's wife*

This comes off as all sorts of judgey to me. Are pregnant women eating too much for you? Are they saying irritable things and NOT blaming hormones? Are they just being 'too damn lazy' for you?

I think the woman's H has the right as an adult to manage his relationship as he sees fit (doing whatever his pg wife asks - even if it is not necessary or even said very nicely) despite whether or not you think it is acceptable behavior.
  • @maddscientist this woman literally went to file for divorce because he explained to her that they can't afford to go out to eat on a daily basis. She told me that since she's the pregnant one she should get what she wants no matter when it is or where they are and if he didn't understand that then she's done being married. They were staying in my house for 2 months and all I could hear was her screaming at him for not letting her fulfill her cravings (which was red lobster, seriously, she went there 4 times in a week without him.) and then she would tell him that he was going to be an inadequate father because he already deprives her of what she wants.

It's not about all pregnant women. It's soley about this particular one. Be lazy. Eat all the food you want. But to actually throw divorce papers in your husbands face because he is trying to budget your money is wrong.

  • Found out that H and I make too much money for Food Stamps and WIC. Good news I suppose but at the same time I'm a bit upset we didn't qualify for at least one of them. Even a little bit of help would have eased my mind a bit. Damn bills. Damn adulthood. :-w
  • Here's one. I like staying home with DS and I want to stay home with DD too. DH has been pressuring me to get a job which I eventually need to do to break into a new career but I don't want to leave my kids until I know DH can be a SAHD/student.

I'm hoping that by getting a graduate degree and selling off our second home I can start out making enough for him to quit outright. I'm also hoping that I cam get a job closer to family so that we can have a family member watch the kids while DH is in school which would require us to sell 2 homes and find a home in a new city in the middle of a huge transition.

I haven't told DH any of this because he's laid out his plan and they don't match. I just stretch his ideas to match mine when we come to big life decisions. I just don't want to fight about it.

  • It irritates me to no end when people abuse government assistance programs.

Example: A friend and her live-in fiance had a baby last year. Since they weren't married, she was able to have 80% of her and baby's medical expenses covered by the state because (on paper) the fiances' income "doesn't count". They actually postponed their wedding so they could stay within qualifying range for WIC and other assistance programs until their son was done with formula.

This is such bullshit because, combined, the two of them make significantly more money than DH and I (who don't qualify). They are knowingly taking advantage of those funds. There are people out there that could actually USE it and NEED it - then there are assholes like this.
I know people like that. It's one thing to need it or to need it and have to find a way to get it but to not need it and still cheat the system is wrong.

  • My shoes smell. they are older flats that I have sweat too much in? worn too much in the rain? who knows. But, I can smell them when I am sitting down - so I imagine others can as well.

However, this will probably not stop me from wearing them, as they are my only black shoes that are suitable for work (closed toe). And, I likely will do nothing to try to remove the smell either.
Stick some dryer sheets in those suckers and let them sit overnight.

obvs. there are multiple ways to try and do so, I am just too lazy, etc. to do so
  • @smg2302 - they are playing the new episodes on Hulu now the day after they are aired on cable.  We don't have cable, so that's how I keep up.

My FFFC is that I added a bunch of toys to my BRU (private just for coupons) registry that I want to buy DD1 for Christmas. So now when I purchase them at TRU/BRU, I will get more rewards points/dollars from buying off my registry. :D
I did not realize that BRU offered private registries!  I set up a private Amazon one and was kind of annoyed that I couldn't do one at BRU too, since I totally loved the coupons and completion discount there the last time.  Thank you (though I may not be saying that once the bills start rolling in) for this!  And I will likely be doing that same thing for DS' Christmas gifts lol!

I feel like the worst, most selfish person ever. DBF started feeling really sick (headache & stuffy nose exacerbated by extreme heat) so we had to leave ACL early today. I'm missing three bands I really wanted to see today. Don't get me wrong, his health is *the* most important, but I'm still a little disappointed. These tickets were my birthday present & I was really looking forward to Outkast. :(
  • My FFFC is that I have not been active on this board in a while because I'm annoyed at all the name polls-can't feel baby- gender/sex (whichever is correct heck if i know) disappointment- and whatever other posts where there were 500 new threads of the same topic that I can't remember because I have avoided the board for so long but I miss you guys and since this is flame- free yall can't gang up on me lol
  • We do have the three day pass, so on the bright side there is always tomorrow! I would just feel like THE WORST going without him. @sarabell52‌

That's her true FFFC but she's nervous. :-\"
    Anniversary

  • I thought of one BRU related like @AF9211‌ .

Last pregnancy my OB had BRU coupons next to the pamphlets in the hall for a $10 gift card if you had a registry. I took one each appointment and used 1 every once in a while at BRU... I think I got like 4 or 5? I gave the rest of the coupons to prego friends.

It was YOUR birthday present, and those tickets are expensive. I bet he'll feel better by tomorrow. Maybe you guys could just do a 1/2 day.

ETA: dayquil, zyrtec-d, medicate him! Nothing that will make him drowsy though. :)

    ****
Yeah, he's sleeping it off right meow so *fingers crossed* he'll feel better tomorrow. It's just funny because I was stressing about *me* being the one having trouble lasting all day at the festival (heat, walking, blah blah pregnant problems) and making *him* leave early. Haha. @sarabell52‌

Yeah, it really does AND we caught rush hour traffic on the way home. ;)@jennjilljoite‌
  • @Hernsy‌ I dvr'd them and am completely caught up. I want Sunday's episode now!!!

Aww sorry about that! :( I'd be disappointed too, especially since the tix were for your birthday. Hope he feels better tomorrow, but if not, as @sarabell52 said, go without him so you can enjoy it. Unless he's one of those men who becomes a complete baby when sick and will need your undivided TLC.

ETA oh glad he's feeling better! Hope you get to go tomorrow and enjoy it until you're tired and need to leave.

  • I have another one. We got new carpet installed literally 24 hours ago. My pup vomited all over it already. And not just any old vomit, disgusting, I got into the cat litter, digested cat poop vomit. I cleaned it up and it looks and smells fine. I took the hairdryer to it so that it wasn't wet by the time he gets home. He's very annoyed by my pup since he keeps doing this and I haven't gotten the boxes in a better place yet so I don't want him to know.

@Foxslaw - here's the radar from 7:05 this morning. The storm is moving North/Northeast, but it may put a damper on the festivities today. I think the rule is, when Stevie Ray Vaughn is pancho-deep in water, shit gets cancelled. He's not yet. (I just made that up, but it's pretty accurate).
