Baby Names

My family is so crazy O_o

My grandma is without a doubt the most important person to everyone in my family so everyone wants to name their kid after her. Her name is Frances Star. Every single person who chooses to honor her gives their kid her middle name for their middle name. I just want to scream WHY. I am the ONLY person who has used Frances for their dd's middle name. I like that dd is the only one who has my grandmas first name as her middle name but it still just confuses me.

We have:
Hannah star
Jaylen arias star
Olivia star
Jamie Lynn star
Ava star

Lots of star's. I like that you went with her fn.

Lots lol to be fair, there are 37 grand and great grandchildren so it's not as if it's 5/10 cousins with the middle name lol
  • I love Frances, much better than Star.
  • Wow. Lol.

I had a great Aunt Eunice Ann (went by Ann), my great Aunt Katherine named both her daughters MN Ann, and one of their daughters is MN Ann. Although Star is FAR more unique, I kind of see where you're coming from.

I'm not even gonna lie, if someone important to me had the name Star in their name I would probably use it in the mn spot. I love that you used Frances though. ETA: To add, with the mn Star, I feel like you have to be VERY careful what you pick for a first name. It really should be classic to balance it out.
I was going to say this -- it could go stripperish very fast (no offense to your grandmother, OP).
  • Meh-- I like Star as a MN-- I think it's sort of a neat tradition, and I like the idea of balancing out a more serious name with a more "fun" middle name.

That being said, Frances is a lovely name, so either way, you can't lose.
