Girl Names...because I'm obsessed

I posted our longer list earlier this week on the Baby Names board. We have now narrowed our name list down to 3 names. Kirsten came off because of spelling/pronunciation issues, and the fact that MIL's name is Kristine. It's just too close. DH finally said he doesn't think he can get on board with Lena, so that's out. Middle name will probably be Rose (family name) or Renae (my middle name), but those aren't set it in stone. Our last name starts with a hard C.

I know a lot of you are sick of these posts, but at least it's clicky!

  • I love Talia. It's one of those names that I wouldn't use because all my family and friends are batman nerds but I still love it.

  • I really like Cora! And the initials CC are nice.
  • Ha! @jennjilljoite‌ my first thought was batman too when I saw the name Talia.

I like Cora a lot. Maybe because I love Downton Abbey.
  • Is Cora becoming too popular though? I was one of 6 in my class and I don't want that for my kids.

I don't know any chikd by that name and I don't think I've heard it here. It's over the top 100 and while it looks like it's getting more popular recently, you can't predict how popular it would get.

This makes me feel better. I don't know any child by that name either, and I also live in the Midwest.

  • I really like all 3 names!, but I voted for Cora. It's my favourite out of the 3
  • I like all of them, but would probably pass on Cora (even though by itself its my first choice) I think the 2 syllable first and last names and them both starting with a hard C would be too much alliteration for me and turn me off (without knowing exactly what your LN is).
  • My best friends 3 year old is Cora Mae and I absolutely love her name!
  • Cora, the other two are nms

  • I love Cora as well. One of my techs has a daughter named that (granted she is 9) that always complains that she doesn't know any other girls with that name. Also in the Midwest. I think Nora(h) is more popular here so far
  • I love Cora, so that got my vote. However, I'm not a fan of alliterative names, which it seems like she'd have. The other two are NMS.

If you go with Cora, I think Cora Renae flows better than Rose.

  • I like them all but I didn't pick Cora bc I don't know how it sounds with your last name starting with a C too. I wish I could have gotten DH on board with Lena as well :(

  • Cora and Talia are both great!

  • I like Cora but not so keen on the alliteration. I picked Nina which is also very pretty and similar in style and sound to cora.

Exactly this. I love Cora... but not so much with Rose nor a hard C surname. I picked Talia in its stead.

  • I love Cora! If I had a girl her middle name would have been Cora after my great grandma!
