Anyone up late? I'm so upset-pinprick spotting

I've had two instances of pinprick looking red dots tonight and a few times throughout the week. I ignored it until the cramping tonight and two times in a day. We haven't had sex since IVF so it's not that. I am scared to death and can't do anything about it. If there was no cramping or if I'd had normal symptoms this whole time maybe I could breathe but I have convinced myself it's the worst.

Has anyone had cramps and dot spotting? I am 11 weeks.

I had a lot of cramping throughout first tri and some small episodes of spotting. My spotting was always pink or light brown. It wouldn't hurt to call your dr in the morning for some reassurance.

What do you mean by pinprick spotting? Literally a tiny dot of red blood? I get this from time to time bc the skin down there is so sensitive and it is easily irritated. I can only use my hand to wash down there and even rubbing w toilet paper can irritate my skin and create these itty bitty specs of blood only detectable on my TP. Hopefully that is the case for you. Hey, thanks for responding. Yes, it's literally like a dot on the paper. I've been ignoring it when it's happened off and on because it seemed like so much of a fluke. But with my cramping last night and two instances of that I have fallen into a panic.

I hope my doctor's office won't laugh me off when I call in an hour.

I'm sorry. Is there anything when you wipe? What size are these dots? Are you using any inserts that mighy be irritating you down there?

@Grateful&Thankful‌ Hey, they are dots that almost look like they're decoration on cheap toilet paper, if you know what I mean by cheap toilet paper. (cheap toilet paper abounds at my job and honestly I thought when it started a week or two ago it was just that) But last night there were definitely two separate instances of red dots on my toilet paper. It sounds so stupid and that's why I've been brushing it off.

Also, I am still on Prometrium 200mg supp once a day- so this is now week 9 of that since I started 2 weeks into the cycle.

I don't have any advice but I don't think you should feel bad about calling your dr at all. Hope it is nothing to worry about. Perhaps it is just irritation.

I don't think your should worry at all, but calling your doctor is no big deal at all. When cramping, I've usually tried to lie down and drink a lot of water, and it will go away. I'm sure all is well!!

I had an instance where I was gushing red blood with cramping. Scariest thing I'd ever seen! However, it was just an irritated cervix. Like pp daid, drinks lots of water and rest. Hopefully, it's nothing to worry about!

It honestly doesn't sound bad but I'd still call your doctor to be on tbe safe side (and to put your mind at ease). I definitely know what you mean about cheap toilet paper, lol. Update us when you can!

@gratefulandthankful Thanks for being so nice. I am having such a hard time. I have "situational anxiety disorder" caused by our infertility (according to my counselor) and I'm having such a hard time coping with every little thing. I want to be pregnant and blissful, but everything feels scary.

My OB's nurse said she isn't concerned at all, but is going to try to set up an ultrasound for me and will call back soon. Just praying I'm being paranoid.

Glad they'll try to get you an u/s to put your mind at ease. I didn't mention it on your May BMB post, but I've had a lot of cramping too, and it's gotten worse. So I think it's common? I forgot to ask my OB about it, but I've had it so much on and off for 2 weeks that I'm just tired of worrying about it.

Well, I'm definitely out of the land of REs now. I've never had an ultrasound done in a hospital before and I'm sitting here waiting and feeling totally overwhelmed. I guess this is the place where everyone brings 25 family members to squee over big bellies and gender reveals. I hope I can be so lucky. Deep breath.

Good luck to you. I hope you got good news on your scan.

I similarly had very, very minor red spotting on TP a few weeks ago, and I went in to my OB for an exam and a scan. Fortunately, she saw no signs of bleeding, the the scan showed heartbeats - which was all she was checking for.

My OB suggested that the tiny amount of blood might not have come from my reproductive system at all. Like @Ducky719 suggested, she thought it might have come from the urethra or elsewhere in the area.

Thanks for the good thoughts. Well, I have no idea what's causing the spotting/ cramping, but I saw my baby and the baby LOOKS like a baby. It was the most amazing thing to see it moving, kicking, smacking its face...

I measured 11w1d even though I am 11w for sure, which is nice because I was 2 days behind on the 8 week scan. (I know those aren't big differences, but it calms me down a little.) She didn't do a long listen with the heart, but I could see it beating quickly every time she put the doppler on. The tech was so strange though---like, she was nice, but she wasn't overly sharing of information. So I would say, "How big?" and she'd say, "Well, it's supposed to be..." and then I'd say, "O-kay, so what is it?" And then she'd say, "Well, it was bigger than it has to be a second ago and now it's smaller...and now it's bigger again." (It was really upsetting until I had asked her several times, "Okay, so this looks okay?" and got her to tell me several times back that it did. (I think it was supposed to be 45 and mine measured 46 then 41 and then 45. Sounds like the baby moving, which is what I suggested, but she wasn't overly hypothetical with me. lol)

Either way, I'm continuing to pray, but very relieved today.
