your hcg levels at 5 weeks...

Mine was 374 on Wednesday, I was exactly 5 weeks. I have to go back on Saturday to check them again.

I'm praying that they double. Still have had some light bleeding, just twice today. Hoping that this is just a scare.

What were your levels??

At 5w3d mine were about 13,000 and 5w5d about 21,000. The numbers fluctuate greatly from one person to the next so try not to read too much into them! The more important part is whether the number is doubling every 48 - 72 hours. Sending positive thoughts your way for your Saturday appointment!

At 4w6d my level was 499. I just had blood work this morning (5w1d) to see what they are at now. The waiting is SO hard. Fingers crossed for you!

At 4 weeks mine started at 141. Two days later 267 and two days later 596 and finally at almost 5 weeks it was 1249. That being said if I went by my lmp, I would think I was 6 weeks as opposed to 5w2d which is a huge difference. Hoping for doubling!

3w6d my betas were 46 and 4w1d they were 120. But like @JenRN115 if I go by my LMP I would have been 3w2d and 3w4d

I was 6000 on Monday when I went for my baseline and then Thursday morning at 5 weeks 19000. I have heard it can be all over the place but should be raising. Fx for you!

@Loops925‌ Mine at 5W1D were 4,000 I guess normal for carrying a singleton.

Mine are always super low for my first trimester. My pregnancies haven't even shown up on a HPT until 7-8 weeks. Everyone is different and as long as they're doubling every 2-3 days, you're fine.

5 weeks 1 day today. Beta 5082! It was 222 1 week ago. Tuesday 1889. Dr is really happy. Find out next friday if it is 1 or twinsies! Did ivf fresh cycle in July which didn't work. Yippee for FET!

I wouldn't call it routine. I didn't have any for my first pregnancy, and I only had betas checked with my second after they found the m/c. This time they did blood work looking for progesterone levels, but the lab also did an hCG check, so we did a second beta at my request.

This might be a dumb question but where are all of you getting these numbers? My doctor doesn't even want me to come in until October 30th to do anything. I guess she wants to wait to make sure that it's a sticky baby? Is that weird??

@poohbearlove03 I'm Canadian also. There are no betas done where I live, regardless of whether or not you've had a previous m/c. They might be done if you were seeing a fertility specialist. There are no early u/s offered here, even dating ones they seem reluctant to do. Just wait until we start talking more about pre-natal testing and you get to hear about what's available in the US that's not available for us (at least not without a significant charge and going outside of our normal health care channels).

Not dumb at all! These numbers are the result from a blood test that confirm your pregnancy. The hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (better known as hCG) is produced during pregnancy. These numbers increase by doubling every day or two, which is a good sign that your baby will stick. When you are not pregnant your hCG is at 0, once you're pregnant, depending on your gestation, the numbers increase drastically. At 5 weeks, the numbers should be at over 1000... mine were only at 374.

But every women is different, so the levels can be different as well. The important thing is that they increase... and the only way to know that is by doing blood tests every two to three days.

So you are all going to the doctors every few days? Is it bad that I haven't gone yet?

My doctor had me come in for mine right away because of our history of miscarriage. Just had them done last Monday at 4 weeks 2 days and they were 643 and then again on Wednesday at 4 weeks 4 days and they were 2,258. She said my numbers look really good. I go in for a 6 week ultrasound on the 23rd

So you are all going to the doctors every few days? Is it bad that I haven't gone yet?

It's actually a great thing that you haven't gone yet. For the most part, women getting their betas checked are doing do because of a history of loss or infertility.

@mstrieder‌ - Lol..my nurse said that beta is no way to determine how many are in there. They see it every single way. She said no way to tell until the ultrasound.

At 3w3d my beta was 15. 3w5d they were 35. 4w1d they were 149. If I kept the doubling trend going they would be about 1200 at 5w. My RE doesn't do more than 3 unless they aren't doubling.

Don't be worried about not getting betas done. I wish I didn't have to. My arms are so bruised I look like an addict. I only have one
Fallopian tube remaining after an ectopic, so I get in ASAP to ensure the health of my remaining tube. Ultrasound on Tuesday to verify a uterine pregnancy!
