Hair whisperers, I need your help

My hair situation is reaching a crisis point... haven't cut it since January, and colored it at home in July.

Attached is the mess I currently have... super long, kinda fried looking and often tossed in a messy bun. I need something long enough to pull back and relatively low maintenance day to day. Other than that, I'm pretty open to whatever for color cut, ect. My hair is fine and thin.

I'm loving blunt bangs on other people, not sure if they're right for me? I'm just so bored and it looks so tired... help!

    I like the bangs idea, I think they'd suit you wonderfully! If blunt is too scary, maybe go for a swoop to start?

    I'd also cut it to an inch or two below your shoulders. That should get rid of any dead ends and also give you volume. 

    Are you coloring it also? I regret the highlights I got -- I wish I had stuck with darker colors leading into fall.

    Aw, thanks ladies, you're too kind! And LOL on the pink hair... that's a hat in my avatar. ;-) I've wanted pink hair before, though! Maybe it's a sign? ;-)

    I'm definitely going to color it, I've got serious roots going on from when I dyed it myself.

    Bangs seem to have pretty widespread support, maybe I'll just tell the stylist "bangs... do what you think" and see what I get! :-)

    I think long layers and a side bang would look great! What do you think about going darker with the color? Please post a pic after you get it done :-)
