Soooo - currently a high school teacher and looking for a new job. For a few reasons - work in the 51st worst state for teachers, hate my boss, never going to get another raise again, etc, etc.
The job I'm looking into is an Executive Assistant for the Dean of the School of Education and a state university. Job description is basically the Dean's "right hand man" - writing/editing/sending emails on their behalf, booking appointments, resolving problems, organizing meetings, etc. They want me to submit a writing sample, but give no explanation of what this should be. I've only ever applied for one professional post college job - and that would be the one I'm in now, so I have no experience with this. What does this mean???
I know it needs to be something professional - but I don't and have never written grants, or journal articles, or anything like that. So I'm stuck on what to submit. Any ideas???? 'Preciate the help!

Re: NBR - Help me apply for a job!
Just one thing to add...I find that especially jobs at colleges are filled by people internally. Good luck and give it your all, there is likely to be stiff competition!
