Any tips? My appointment is at 9 and I have my US at 8:30. They said I have to drink it 1 hour before my appointment and I have 5 mins to get it down. Any advice would be appriciated! Thanks
I had no problems drinking the drink. It's not that large of a volume. I do however recommend packing food/getting food to have as soon as your blood is drawn. I was sooooo hungry. That was the worst part for me.
When I went for my GTT, they had to draw my fasting blood first, THEN they gave me the sugary drink. The drink really wasn't that bad. I would definitely recommend putting it in the fridge tonight, though! It tasted better when I did that for my screening test than when they gave it to me warm for the GTT. Are you just having the glucose screening done or the four hour test??
It was no biggie. I did it today. My doctor allowed a light breakfast before - I had one hard boiled egg so the protein would hopefully help me get through the sugar rush and crash. It seemed to work fine!
The drink went down pretty easy, not tasty but not hard to swallow.
It's nice they're doing the ultrasound in the middle to keep you distracted, and so you can go rest after.
I would def bring a snack for after! A banana to get your sugar back up quick, and some form of protein (dried fruit & nut bar or something).
I had mine this morning. My doctor told me not to fast. A friend of mine who is a midwife told me not to eat carbs or cereal before just to eat protein as the former can lead to false positives so I just had eggs. Good luck!
Re: GTT test tomorrow
If you feel sick, dizzy, weak ect. ... eat your snack and drink your water in the waiting room before you drive.

The drink isn't bad at all. I got the orange.
I drank it in like 2 min, if that.
I had my midwife appt, and my MFM appt while I was doing it, so it was nice not just sitting there.
I think I only sat for 30 min or so.
I had the 2 hour test though.
