I am already benched and haven't even started treatment yet.

I had my first RE appt a couple weeks ago after having my left ovary and tube removed due to a large cyst. They sent me for some bloodwork and said to call on CD1 to schedule a baseline ultrasound.

The ultrasound this morning went well. Uterus and lining looks good. Ovary is "borderline polycystic," but otherwise healthy and thriving.

BUT, my bloodwork showed that I don't have immunity for rubella. Im benched so I can get the MMR vaccine and give it a month to kick in. Im completely bummed.

I was diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN in January & assumed you either have it or you don't. Has anyone been told they're borderline?

No advice on the PCOS issue, but having just recently come off the bench after many months due to various issues with my body, I totally understand how frustrating it is. I hope the time goes by quickly for you.

Hi! I'm so sorry you are on the bench. I know how you're feeling. I did a cycle of Femara at the beginning of AUGUST and went in on day 10 and had a cyst. I've been on BCPs since. It sucks!! No other way to describe it.

My understanding is that PCOS can be diagnosed if you have just some of the signs/symptoms. For instance, I was diagnosed based on my irregular cycles and physical characteristics. I didn't even have an ultrasound until I went to the RE, where he informed me that one of my ovaries is classically polycystic in appearance while the other is more "normal" looking. So, I'm guessing the RE is saying your actual ovary is borderline polycystic (in appearance). Maybe that will bode well for your ability to get pregnant - once off the bench!

@Heath&Jas‌, that makes sense. I've had many ultrasounds recently, but this is the first time anyone has addressed PCOS specifically from ultrasound findings.

Thanks for all the support! I felt blindsided and almost cried right there in that office. I've waited this long, so I guess sitting out one more cycle isn't that bad in the grand scheme. I'll keep myself busy for the next few weeks.

Hey! I've had three ultrasounds since we discovered my cyst and I've cried every time. I may lose my mind this Friday if it's not gone, so I'm having my husband come along, just in case (usually I go on my way to work or on weekends while he stays home with our daughter). Crying is normal. A month is nothing in the grand scheme, but when you're in the thick of it, it seems really long and it's just highly frustrating to make no forward progress. Believe me, I totally know how you feel!

Sorry about the bench. I was benched for 2 months and now possibly having to scrap this cycle and it suuuucks. It's hard to be patient. I hope everything goes well this month for a fresh start next month!

Thanks guys! I think I found my silver lining. If I had gotten KU this cycle, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy a nice glass of wine with my Thanksgiving dinner.
