I bought a bib (it's how I told DH thay we were pregnant). Though every time I go into target or anyplace else I go to the baby aisle as my first stop!
I had started acquiring outfits when my friend gave birth to a beautiful baby girl earlier this year. So, should I have a boy at least I know they will go to good use! Haha..I also have a lot of onesies I bought at concerts I go to because some of my favorites artists sell them at the merch tables lol.

No. I frequent baby aisles though (I have a 14.5 month old). We won't make any purchases for quite a while. There isn't much we should *need* for this baby
We are in the same boat:)...I still have all of the "big" stuff from my 3 yr old!
I just bought a onesie that said "Grandpa's Favorite" with a little fish on it to tell my dad. But my mom has bought some slippers with with baseballs on top because my husband loves baseball and bib that says "My First Thanksgiving" with a cute turkey on it.

I bought a gender neutral coming home outfit - that's how I told DH. But since we're team green and this is our third, there really isn't anything we need to buy. I'll probably stock up on some necessities once third tri rolls around (milk bags, diapers, etc).
I bought a onesie years ago that I have been saving. And a couple weeks before we conceived, we found another one side too cute to resist while we were on vacation. It is white and just says "I'm here!" Which really sums it all up. ">
No. We may buy a "big sister" shirt for DD and a gender neutral sleeper (which is what we did with DD) if our 8week appointment goes well, but nothing before then.

Nope. The only thing we'll need is diapers and a few new parts for my pump. I didn't buy anything for my first though until after she was born. Our little preemie girl surprised us by coming before our shower and I was waiting to buy until after that.
Nope, waiting until our first u/s to buy anything! Once we have that my first purchase will be a "big brother" shirt for DS
To be honest, I haven't thought about it at all. But I had seen before a shirt that said "only child expiring - (date)" so I'll probably do that after the first appt. if it goes well... My last first appt told us our baby had no hb, so im cautious.
We haven't bought anything yet although the day after we told my parents they surprised us the next day with a baby book since It has things to go ahead and fill out in it. (Like the day we found out we was pregnant.... the first people we told... the due date... things about mommy... things about daddy.... family tree. Also they gave us a card to go with it.
After the anatomy scan. I didn't get rid of too much from DS - just gave some things to a neighbor (and kept more than he actually wore - DS grew FAST.) Once I know the sex, I can assess what I want to pick up.
Hopefully, I can wait until after my U/S. I am a first time mom and I just want to buy everything right away. I am only 5 weeks along.
Do you suggest I buy some of the main items first (i.e crib, bassinet, etc)?
With my first pregnancy, I waited until I was about 5 months. I kinda regretted it because I still didn't have everything by the time she came. Money was kind of tight at that time. Fast forward to my third child, I started around 3 months. By then I knew what I really needed and didn't. Everyone is different....go with your gut:)
DH and I went I to a baby's r us for a baby shower of a good friend. I had an emotional moment where I picked up the cutest stuffed elephant and almost started crying. Two days later he woke me up from a nap with the elephant... So sweet.
Haven't bought anything yet. Will be using a ton of the gender neutral stuff we got for my daughter who will be almost two when this one is born. It's actually really nice to just be able to focus on clothes and necessities like diapers this time. I don't feel as rushed to get stuff. Though I am debating on whether we will need a second crib then or not. How do you know when it's time to go to a toddler bed?
@JRClaire - I see our kids are almost exactly the same age and we are due at the same time! We talked about the toddler bed too, but I think there's still so much time we'll see what the situation is like then. DS slept in our room with us for a long time, I'm not sure how things will go this time around, but we figure by the time baby needs a crib he'll be in a bed. Fingers crossed!
I haven't even thought about buying anything otherwise yet this time. I guess we already have the big things around though.
I bought a bib and burp cloth set. (It was from the Pike Street Market in Seattle). I love Dia de los Muertos stuff (sugar skulls) and they had a bunch of cute baby stuff in a print that I liked.
My Mom got me a hand-painted frog onesie and hat from the same Market
I got a dress/sweater set with Swans on it (I keep thinking it's a girl) and my last name is Swanson--but she'll have DH's last name, so yeah..I dunno. I thought it was cute and a little bit of my namesake for her. Watch--I'll have a boy and be stuck with the dress for next baby!
I think we will wait until the end of the first tri/second tri. This is our first but I'd rather just wait it out.
@loveink I will be a FTM. I can't decide yet if I want to know the sex or know when the time goes. BUT, I have a huge urge to buy baby clothes already!!! Maybe some green and yellow outfits for now. Ohhh - ya know, why not, that's how I wanna tell my mom and in laws anywho.
This is out first and we just found out a week ago. But we had started to get some things here and there before that. That way we have time and the money to get the things we really want.
Hopefully, I can wait until after my U/S. I am a first time mom and I just want to buy everything right away. I am only 5 weeks along.

(Unless money is no object) I recommend a lot of window shopping and research to see what big ticket items you want that are unlikely to be gifted or loaned to you. When you have your big ticket budget start looking for sales (although don't feel any pressure by BAR or BBB sales since every big ticket item will go on sale likely more than once during your pregnancy). I would wait until after a potential shower to buy any of the cute little fun stuff.

@tiffbot1985 Cool! When is your little ones birthday? My daughter's birthday is July 12, 2013. And it looks like based on your screen name we were both born in 85.
And you raise a good point. My daughter was in our room for the first 6 months so we should have extra time before we need to bump her up to a toddler bed.
Ive literally bought everything from clothes to moses basket to dummys to a pram.. all i need is some pinks/blues when i find out if its a boy/girl. im only 6weeks 4days!!!
