Pregnant after IF

Science is freaky and awesome

I imagine my daughter with her younger sibling playing in the park saying she gets to go down the slide first because she's older and the sibling replying, "well, actually, not really, they just kept me in the freezer for a few years."

I don't know if there is a word for it - siblings conceived at the same time but born years apart. It is sort of a fascinating concept to me (feel free to tell me that I"m lame).  It's sort of like twins that are staggered.

Re: Science is freaky and awesome

  • One of my friends has mentioned this to me before, she had some frosties from her 1st IVF that failed, but did a 2nd fresh cycle that was successful before having to use the frosties.  So technically her 2nd child could be older than her 1st.  Weird!

  • I do take a great deal of comfort in the fact that IVF children NEVER have to admit that their parents had sex! lol
I remember that troubling revelation and am glad to spare our child.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • My midwife has paperwork and it asks the age of the parents.

Well, the bio father created this sperm in 2007 back when he was 24. I am currently 39 but we are using an egg that has been in the freezer since 2011.
  • My poor aunt struggles understanding this whole process.

We had ER in June but didn't do FET until sept. She thought they were still growing the whole time. I also have 1 girl still frozen that could be this ones twin.

I'm waiting for the day my husband can carry the next one.
    Fucking bump!!!!
