Pain advice please

I am almost 11 weeks and since week 8 I have been having a lot of pains around where my trousers sit. It is at it's worst when I wake up in the morning and it hurts when I turn in bed, when I bend and when I'm changing ( having to stand on one leg ) the pain almost feels like a tugging pain. It is worrying me because it has worsened and sometimes the pain is so severe that I worry that something serious could be happening. I have previously had ops to fix prolapses that I have suffered in the past, one being in 2013. I have been told that I will need a ceasarian due to having a mesh placed into me to lift my pelvic floor where it was collapsing. I have reAd up about PGP ( pelvis girdle pain ) and it sounds possible it could be this especially seeing as I have previous issues with my pelvic floor. Has anyone previously suffered with this or have any knowledge?

Re: Pain advice please

  • I don't have any knowledge on prolapses or anything like that, but this is my third pregnancy and I can tell you that round ligament pain is REAL.  It feels like crampy tugging.  Lots of stretching going on in there girl.  GL!

  • No knowledge, maybe you need to discuss this with your Dr.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • I am ringing first thing tomorrow to get an appointment, I tried last week but was given a doctor who was absolutely AWFUL. I have actually made a complaint as it was one of the worst appointments I have ever been to and I have been to MANY. I came out with nothing, so hopefully tomorrow will be better! I have been suffering badly all day to the point I'm in tears. I have noticed that when I sit and put pressure on my perineum it is really painful. When looking up PGP I have every symptom so it is very possible, especially with my history of pelvic floor problems. If so do you know what treatments are available? X
  • I had PGP with both of my other pregnancies a pelvic girdle really helps obviously talk to your doctor but you might have to get physical therapy for it if it's really bad I didn't have it that bad but know some ladies that had therapy and said it helped. I wear my girdle now since I was having issues with my hips earlier.
  • Thankyou for all of your help and advice, I have spoken to my Doctor he rang and he said he wants to see me and have a feel of my stomach, he sounded good on the phone, said that during pregnancy a lot has to grow and because of my adhesions from past ops it could be causing me pain, but he is concerned and wants me to go up he said if he feels it's needed I will have to have a scan as they have access to the early pregnancy clinic. ( which I'd like to happen for reassurance ) he said he can also arrange pain relief tablets too and has booked me in for 12 so not too long to wait. Fingers crossed all is ok x
  • I'm glad to read your Dr called and set you up with an appointment. Hope you'll have some relief from your discomfort soon an reassurance. Best wishes.
  • Have been to doctors and they have referred me to the early pregnancy clinic to have some tests done, blood test or scan. Will be going first thing. In the morning and hopefully be one of the first in or waiting time could be up to 4 hours! Hopefully all is ok as doctor thinks it is more PGP but would like to do a scan just incase x
