Getting induced Friday!

Hey everybody!

My due date is tomorrow (October 9th) and I had my 39 week appointment today. Doctor said I am 1cm dilated and 75% effaced. He also asked if I had thought about being induced since my original due date was October 1st before they pushed it back to the 9th when I was about 18 weeks. The baby is measuring two weeks ahead (by ultrasound) and has been since my last ultrasound at 31 weeks. I honestly am so uncomfortable, but also very excited to meet my son. I know that past 40 weeks the baby is really only gaining weight, which is a concern for my doctor because I am built small. I don't want to raise my chances of a C-section if he can't fit through my birth canal. I am a first-time mother, so all this is very nerve-wracking and exciting all at the same time. I just hope things go smoothly.

    An induction when baby is not ready to come out can sometimes result in a c-section too if you are not progressing the way you should be. My baby has been measuring a week early too but is still not here even though she's due tomorrow. I would just make the decision that feels best for you and your baby. Good luck!

    As most have said in one way or another, trust yourself. Knowing all of the most likely outcomes, are you okay with whatever path your decision leads you down? I'm all about weighing positive and negative consequences and making decisions from there :)
