PSA wine lovers

I found a couple of different brands of Non-alcoholic wine at total wine. I'm drinking the Chardonnay one by Ariel right now, it's pretty darn good. Also there's a brand called Fre.
Selection is limited I think they only had Chardonnay and Cabernet. They also had a champagne. I'm thinking non-alcoholic mimosas in the morning =P~

Re: PSA wine lovers

  • This just made my day. Now to work in a trip to pick some up during my busy weekend
  • Loading the player...
  • Yummy! About how much are they? A friend of mine was saying they are expensive but I still haven't had a chance to look.
  • Aw man! I know they don't sell those out here, my husband wants me to go with him to a wine festival in December and it keeps making me sad. I miss wine...

    5.99-6.99
They are a step up from grape juice though since they are made with wine making grape varietals.
I definitely prefer over juice or mar tells sparkling cider

  • I bought one and it was so disgusting I threw it away and had half a glass of real wine instead. My best friends' close friend is a gynocologist, her mother is the chief gynocologist at a hospital and her father is the chief of surgery at the same hospital and they say it's okay with a small glass sometimes so I trust them. Nothing to get buzzed by, just to taste. I feel like everything in moderation has to
be ok as long as I listen to my body.
  • It's not the same :-( I have tried it. Blech.

  • Sadly, noticeable taste difference. I'm having better luck tricking my taste buds with nonalcoholic beer.
  • I tried the NA champagne, and while it is nothing like the real thing, it was better than grape juice.

I let the wine shop that I work with sometimes know why I've been under the weather last weekend. While I was in I sipped and spit three wines from my favorite California producer, Broc. Oh man, it was a total winegasm.
  • Yuck yuck yuck... it tastes like grape juice with some extra chemicals
  • I sadly, have only found ones that kinda suck.

  • Yeah I can't get into the NA wine either. I tried, but I couldn't get past a half a glass.
I make myself feel better by cooking with wine, I think it gives me the satisfaction and a hint of flavor.

Side note: Last pregnancy, my in-laws bought a case of that Sparkling Apple Cider for me as a nice gesture for New Years and Easter so I could 'toast' with them. I felt so guilty that they had bought them for me. Somehow I got all 6 bottle down between the 2 holidays. Nothing can be as bad as that stuff.
  • I put everything in a wine glass, gingerale, sparkling water with lemon, and other mocktails. Not the same, but I enjoy it!

I sometimes don't see the point of NA wine...I want to think it tastes exactly the same, but I dont think it does. Also, no buzz.

I totally agree with this. No buzz = empty calories in my book.

We went to a wedding last weekend and I ordered tonic water with lime, made me feel like I was drinking an adult beverage. Agree, not the same but it was good! Plus, not drinking for a few months is worth it ;-)
