Pregnant and breastfeeding

My lo is 9 months old and still nurses about 6 times a day. Well we had a little surprise yesterday and found out I'm expecting again.
Does anyone have advice how to continue nursing while pregnant?
Will my supply take a huge hit?

Re: Pregnant and breastfeeding

  • First off congratulations! So far in my experience... I am 11 weeks along and nursing my almost 20 month old dd. When I found out I was expecting she was nursing four times a day. She is now down to just before bed. I am weaning because she has a milk protein allergy and I am really wanting to get back to eating all the dairy. Selfish I know, but that's where I am now. I have not had any supply issues. However from the things I have read supply can often get lower in the second tri. I had some nipple sensitivity. What helped was telling her to open real big before she latched on. So that has been my experience so far. I second all the tips amyg said. Good luck!
