I've been feeling the need to take a nice bath every single night but I keep having this feeling I shouldn't be taking them. I tried to do research and got multiple answers.
so long as you don't have a reason from your OB not to, and you aren't using water so hot you lobster in it, you're good... personally, I don't like lukewarm baths... but when the back pain kicks in, I don't care what the temp is :P
ps-I'm sorry I misspell so much on here, I try to correct it when I catch it, but I'm severely dyslexic, and add in pregnancy brain-farts, I don't always catch the errors.
Yes. I've been taking a few baths a week. Our doc said they are safe as long as the temp of the water is less than 120 degrees.
Water at 120 degrees can cause third degree burns after 5 minutes of exposure. I think you mean you should set your hot water tank to 120 degrees which is what is recommended for everyday household use. Because most people use both hot and cold water when filling a bath the temp is not going to be as hot as it could potentially be if only hot is used. To put it in perspective, most hot tubs are set at around 102 degrees and they usually feel much warmer than bath water. Soaking in a tub at 120 degrees would be unbearable.

Yes thank you, that is what I meant. Was multi-tasking when writing this post. Thank you for the correction.
I've been told something slightly different, which is avoid the "I'm getting hot" feeling. Sometimes while pregnant I take fairly warm baths, but when I do I use less water and alternate which parts of me are submerged. I much prefer that to taking a lukewarm bath and being submerged from the neck down. Gag.

Can I just say I was distracted by your SN? Is it "Yo It's Looo"? Or "Yo It's Slow"? Or is yoitslooo a word that I'm missing.

I heard that also actually. I get hot pretty quick so my baths are pretty short!
Thank you I am just seeing this sorry for the super late reply! I just started using the web version of this site and my smart phone isn't so smart and doesn't show me when I receive replies lol !
I take one at least 3 times a week. Watch the temp, if you have to hesitate because of temp when you step in then it is too hot. 3rd tri kills my hips and back, I lived in the tub.
Good to know someone else enjoys baths like me! I will keep that in mind when I take a bath!
If the bath is hot enough that you start to feel kind of bad if you hang out too long, like I sometimes do in a hot tub, then it's too hot. You can tell if you're getting overheated because it doesn't feel great. Pay attention to that feeling!
I definitely will! Thank you for that tip! Sorry for the late reply too!!

My Ob said it was fine and I'll keep the lobster thing in mind :P It's totally fine don't even worry about it, I understood everything! Also sorry for such a late response!

I have a bath every night and did with my last 3 pregnancies too. It's the only way I can relax and get warm enough so I don't have to warm up my ice cube feet on my poor husband to get to sleep. I don't let it get so hot that I'm sweating and ready to pass out which would not be a good idea. So far all my kids seemed to have survived their prenatal daily submersions without any ill effects that I have noticed.

Wow okay that's awesome! It's comforting knowing other mothers have been fine!
I have to take hot baths but I make sure to step out if I feel like I will overheat. My tub is a corner whirlpool tub with a seat that is at least five inches above the base. I sit there when I need a break.
