TTC After a Loss

Intro

Hi I'm new here. Here's my story. I had my Mirena removed on July 16 and we found out I was pregnant on Sep 1. I started spotting about a week and a half later but was told by the dr's office that was normal. Started bleeding heavier on Sep 23 and went into the ER. They couldn't find a heartbeat on the ultrasound but said it could just be too early and sent me home with a diagnosis of "threatened miscarriage". The bleeding continued getting heavier the next morning, Sep 24 (I was exactly 7 weeks) and then came the cramping. I passed the intact tissue at home before my dr apt that afternoon and luckily the u/s showed the miscarriage was complete with no tissue left behind. It has now been 2 weeks. I've been "tracking" my hcg with hpt's which have been gradually getting lighter and finally negative today. I had another blood draw yesterday with my hcg down to 15. I also had some ovulation symptoms and a positive opk on Sun. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I just want to be pregnant again as soon as possible. It's been so hard being pregnant and then feeling so empty after the loss. Just letting nature take its course and seeing what happens over this next month or so.

Re: Intro

  • Sorry for your loss. We all understand wanting to get pregnant again but give yourself time to help physically and emotionally. You also need to make sure you check with your doctor before trying again. Most women here have been told to wait at least 1 cycle. I was told to wait 3. ((Hugs)) welcome to the board.

    Everyone Welcome

  • I have discussed TTC again with my Dr and while she says they always recommend to wait a couple cycles that it wouldn't be a higher risk if it happened sooner since my body took care of everything naturally. I am mentally prepared for another loss should it occur again as well, although I am trying to stay positive.
  • Welcome to the board. I'm sorry for your loss. If your dr says they "always recommend" waiting, then wait.

  • Im sorry to hear of your loss. Emotionally I was not ready cycle one. By my second I was itching to TTC, but we remained benched. I'm currently on my third cycle and I'm excited and nervous to start TTC again. Take time to heal emotionally if you need it. Best wishes.
