Soaking through diaper overnight

Sooo ever since we hit the 3.5 mos mark my LO has been peeing like crazy at night. Since she's 4 mos now it's hard to change in motn without completely waking her up. We still swaddle with one arm out and while it has a zipper it's just cumbersome.

Are you all dealing with this and if so how - are you changing or using something that'll hold overnight?

Tia.

Re: Soaking through diaper overnight

  • This happened to me. I just went up one diaper size and it worked.

  • With DD, that's how we figured it was time to size up. I believe there are also overnight diapers with more absorbency.
  • We use Pampers baby dry for night-time.  Also, try going up a size like others have said.

  • We change his diaper halfway through his feed. The second half of his feed makes him sleepy. We probably need to size up soon too

  • Babies r us stocks the greatest thing ever - diaper doublers. We use them with DS1 and they're great. They're like a pad that goes inside the diaper. I liked them more than the overnight diapers, and at $5/30 they're pretty cheap.
  • We just moved to size 2's this past weekend. Monday morning I could have broken a window it was so heavy! I died laughing after I took it off of him. I was like no wonder you woke up earlier than normal!! It's amazing the difference in sizes. So happy to be out of 1's. He was getting a pretty bad rash under his balls too. I think it's because the diaper was too snug. Poor little guy! :(

I couldn't imagine changing him in the middle of the night! I do the same as @whoberry and change half way through his bottle.

  • I think huggies has overnights. My dd1 used to use them at night. I always hated having to change a diaper in the middle of the night and wake them too much that it's hard to get them back to sleep. So far this LO isn't leaking through at night. I change her right before bed and first thing in the morning but not during her middle of the night feeding.
  • We use the pampers 12 hour overnight diapers and went up a size for DS. He still fills it but it's contained. That kid is well hydrated.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Tried sz 2, still filled it. Thinking of looking into cloth for overnights as I don't see any of the eco diapers making an overnight. I'm picky.
  • How about a disposable overnight with a wet pant over it? I don't know what it's called exactly but I've seen them at Walmart near the cloth diapers they just pull up over the diaper and they look like they are made out of shower cap material only a bit thicker.
  • We recently started with this problem and we are in the only diaper that actually fits him everywhere. Which happens to be Luvs and those things hold a TON of urine. I think I have no choice but to bring back the dreaded MOTN change.
