Christmas gift ideas (semi-nbr)

I know, it's early! But I've got to have my gifts finished by thanksgiving, so I've only got a couple weeks left.

I'm planning on making scrapbook calendars for my in-laws. Scrapbooking pictures of the kids around the day boxes. I'm also going to attempt to make crib quilts for my two babies. And that's as fast as I've gotten. :)

But I don't have any ideas for my nephew — the toddler who had everything. So give me your ideas. He needs no toys! Not only do both his grandmas but him everything, but SIL's neighbors and friends have pretty much unloaded all their unwanted/unneeded baby great on her. So SIL has already told me NO TOYS. But he doesn't need clothes either....

So what are your ideas?

  • Books!

    Or a puppy ;)

Books are always the safest option.

Ha! They would probably shoot us for the puppy. They already have 3 dogs! Lol

  • How old of a toddler?  Magazine subscription like Highlights High 5 are good for 3-5 year olds...

  • I found one of those two wheeler bikes that have no peddles for DS for Christmas second hand. Only $40! So maybe some outside games or activities that gets the kid out doors?

  • I bought this LCD writing tablet for DS already. I'm not sure if I'm going to give it to him for Christmas, or for his birthday.  We're going on a 5-hour flight on his birthday, so I might save it for the plane so it's a novelty.  I also bought the neoprene sleeve and the stylus clip, but then it came with a stylus clip, so I could have saved the couple of bucks.

  • Books are always fun or you could give them some craft materials or a free pass to a fun local activity.

They actually have Highlights starting at an infant age level. DS gets one every month and I love it! It's like a mini-board book.
That's actually a really great idea. He's only 1, but he might (and SIL might) like getting a new book in the mail every month. I was also thinking about maybe making a book tote or a little back pack for him, too.

  • zoobies are cool too. They are like zoo books for toddlers. They aren't board books, but the pages are thick and glossy so they are durable. They come every other month and are really great. DD loves looking at the pictures.
