1st scan today. Is this ok or really bad?UPDATE

Hi ladies. I'm 7weeks today going by O day. My scan showed heartbeat right on track at 126bpm. But measuring 1st at 6w6days and second at 6w3days because they couldn't get a clear measurement. But still my ob said baby was measuring at 5.4mm , about half a centimetre but my bump app is telling me baby should be half an inch. That's a big difference isn't it?

Had a scan today and showed that in 48hrs baby grew from around 5.4-5.8mm to 7.2mm. Heartbeat went from 126 to 132. Gestational sac went from 2.02cm to 2.09cm. I saw a different ob so we did not compare results of previous scan but going by this scan he was happy. The reason i scheduled a scan so soon was because last night my nausea disappeared and didn't return this morning so I freaked out. I see that baby is growing. But is it sufficient? Gestational age measurements today put me at 6w4d but from my O day which is accurate I should be at 7w2d. I just can't shift the feeling that something is not right. Thanks for the feedback so far ladies.

At this point it's so hard to say. There can be a big difference in measurement of your O date calculation is even one day off. Too, keep in mind that ultrasounds are accurate plus or minus a few days - I think 3 days at this point?? That said, it sounds like your doctor has measured your baby right in range for size. Plus you saw a hb and that's a great sign. Did your doctor seem concerned?

As for the bump measurements, I wouldn't rely on those as gospel. That is just for fun. Rely on what your doctors tell you. They know what to look for.

My doc wasn't concerned. Said yolk sac was the right size, but I don't really know the significance of that. She said right now things are good but she can't promise anything for the future. I think I'll be having a scan again within a week or so. It was a transvaginal scan so I was expecting a good clear scan. But it was very unclear. All we could make out of baby was the heartbeat so measuring wasn't easy.

My re actually said scans in the 5-6 week range can be off as much as -7+7.. So you are probably fine. Wishing you great vibes and growing baby! Good luck on your next scan!

Since baby is still so small it can be really hard to get an accurate measurement, especially if your doctor has an older ultrasound machine. Also, I would not put a lot of stock in what TB is telling you your baby should measure. The HB looks good, and the fact that the sac is measuring well is a good sign. If it's small or mis shaped that can be a bad sign. I hope that you have another good scan next week!
