Boys Names (Keep, Toss, Add)

I'm still totally lost on a boys name and with less than 3 weeks to go, I think I may end up settling on something if I have a boy. I just don't LOVE anything.

Here's a list of names that I like in varying degrees. Which would you keep, which would you toss, and what would you add?

    Reid -- keep.  A nice alternative to Seth and Arthur.  Not as trendy as Zane.

    Elliot -- keep, but check on popularity in your region.

    Adam -- keep.  A solid traditional choice that's a perennial winner but never over used.

    Thomas -- ditch.  Meh.

    James -- keep.  Slightly less meh than Thomas.

    Marlin -- ditch.  It's a fish, not a child

    Good choices!  You have a lot to work with here!

    Elliot - it just makes me sad my gut reaction was to say toss because I cringe at the thought it's become such a trendy girls name

    Nothing to add, no reason not to choose among the great "keep" or even the "NMS" ones above. I love Thomas and James, and Arthur and Adam are great choices with the added bonus of being infrequently used with today's babies

    Well, I'm giggling to myself about the overwhelming dislike for Marlin. That was a last minute addition and I so agree.

    Kind of sad about the Zane hate, though. It was my understanding that this is an old variation of John and I kind of love it. How is this name trendy? It's not even in the top 200 and hasn't had any dramatic increases in the last number of years. Do people just not like the sound of it?
