I am planning on getting DS a play kitchen--but there are so many different kinds. Leaning towards either a Little Tikes or a Kidcraft kitchen. Thought that maybe some of you might have some good recommendations---or ones to stay away from if you hate the one you have. Thanks in advance.

Re: NWMR: Play kitchens
We got DS this one for his 2nd birthday and he loves it! I like that it's more neutral and it's not a big plastic thing considering it sits out in the main part of our house. It coordinates with all of our dark wood furniture. It took a while to put together, but it wasn't very difficult, feels sturdy and will last for a long time!

My sister gave us this one last Christmas and DD loves it:

Like a PP, I was also assembling it last Christmas Eve (while 9 months pregnant)
I bought DD the Melissa and Doug one off amazon...I waited via camelcamelcamel for the price to drop in to the $70's.
It is not too big, not too small. I like that it fits in the corner, the colors, and that it is wood.
Honestly I would get the one that fits your space and budget. LO won't care if it is wood or plastic. That it allows for pretend play is the most important thing!
Two things to keep in mind:
1. Height. Can you DS reach everything now? Will he outgrow it quickly? DD can barely reach the top shelf on the kitchen now (she's tiny) but at least I'm not worried about her outgrowing it in a year.
2. Assembly. Don't leave it til christmas eve like I did. It took HOURS.
