I'm a little upset..

Hey guys..so there's a clinic in our city that does free ultrasounds and testing for women. When they first opened in 2011, I went for a free ultrasound with dd2 because they needed models. Being anxious and crazy, I went in today to see my baby and hear the heartbeat, I think I should be at the very least 6w4d (7w1d based of my lmp), but all we saw was a sac/yolk and it only measured 5w6d. The woman who did my u/s is a RN, NOT an ultrasound tech. My first ob appointment is next Wednesday, I'm so worried and upset though now. With dd1 we saw and heard a heartbeat clearly at 6w1d. Just asking you all to lift me/us up with positivity.

Are you sure of when you ovulated? How late did you test? My EDD is nearly 4 weeks off of my LMP. It does happen. FX all is perfect!

Exact same thing happened to me. I went for an early scan thinking I was 7+1 but measured 5+6. At the early scan we saw the fetal pole, yolk sac and HB but it wasn't measurable yet. The following week I went to my OB appointment and measured 7 weeks and we saw a HR of 133! I go again next week so I'm curious to see what another 2 weeks of growth will bring. My OB wasn't concerned at all and said everything looked great.

Try to stay positive, if you are not as far along as you think, it could simply be that they can't detect it yet! I'm sure your fine! You need a professional to tell you. Good luck!

I wouldn't get upset yet. Like you said it was a RN not even an us tech. Also you are in that window that a couple of days can make a huge difference on what you see. How do you know when you ovulated?

I got my BFP on September 19th, my lmp was August 19th..I almost always ovulate on the 18th/19th day of my cycle, but this month I didn't track with temping. We only had sex on the 1st and the 5th of September so ovulation has to be in there somewhere..as well as conception obviously. Called my OB and they pretty much told me to chill and that we'd likely not see anything much different next week at my appointment. I've had two normal pregnancies before this one and this just seems "off".

I was about to post something similar... I just had my first u/s and according to my dates I should be 7 weeks but baby measured 6w2d which was a little worrisome. I could have just ovulated later than I thought. Heard a healthy heartbeat at 126 bpm and my OB was happy so I'm happy. Now I'm anxious to get to my 10w appt AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Interestingly enough, TB says at 7 weeks baby is the size of a sweet pea at .52 cm, which is what my OB measured, but he called it 6w2d. hmmmm

I was told that gestation sac and yolk sac measurements can be off by +/- 10 days. At my first US we saw a gestation sac and yolk sac measuring 6 weeks 5 days which was further along than I thought I should be. At my follow up on Tuesday we saw baby with a healthy heartbeat measuring in at 7 weeks exactly. Moral of the story gestation sac/yolk sac measurments can be way off.
