Trouble TTC

Yet an other update!!!

sorry for the length!

Had my post opp follow up this morning. Just a vent I HATE the fact my RE is also a 'teaching RE' because he is only in the office in the mornings. His office happens to be TWO hours away, so my apt at 8 am mean i have to wake up at five and leave the house by six. I am NOT a morning person!! End vent! =P

I got to see the pictures of everything that went on in my Lap surgery. The news was actually pretty grim. I was so excited and ready for this visit, i was so hopeful he was going to say ok your good to go no worries everything came up roses go makes some babies. Well that was not my case…. Turns out i have severe endo. He said if he were to rate me on a scale from 1-10 i would be at an 8 or a 9. There was a lot of build up in the pictures and there was only so much he could remove. He explained i have a higher risk of it spreading to my appendix and other areas. He also found the cyst had so deformed my inside my uterus has attached it self to my bowels. He tried to get them apart but said he couldn't and didn't want to risk tearing anything so just left it. It shouldn't be an issues even when we do get pregnant just something i have to make my future doctors aware of.  He couldn't remove all of the cyst with out removing the left ovary so he got what he could. He explained i do have a much higher rate of having them return i need to be having the trans US every year to check for it at the least, to catch them as early as possible. He said he wants to see me back in early december, if i am not pregnant by then he wants to start on medicines he didn't say which ones just that he would start that in december. He also said its a bad case and that if i am not pregnant in the next six to 8 months i may have to have an other surgery. UGH He did say i can get to work right away tho! I think i will wait an other few days still cramping pretty bad. He explain my ovary and uterus were squished against my pelvic wall and he had to cut it away and cut into the pelvic wall and thats where most of the cramping is coming from said it takes about two weeks for something like that so pass he made quite a few holes in it. Taking deep breaths and keeping my fingers of crossed. I would be pretty stoked if we can get pregnant before we move, i can't even think about having to start all over with an other doc. i LOVE this RE he has been patient and so understanding of all my medical issues and my anxiety disorder. He also said that WHEN (Staying positive over here) i get pregnant before my next apt with him i need to call him RIGHT away and get in and have a bunch of tests done, i have an increased risk of a tubal pregnancy, also my thyroid disorder is pretty bad and he doesn't want to risk me spreading it to the baby so i'll have to start on all kinds of meds which i am fine with. I would love my child to not have to put up with all this. ANd then he wants blood tests done every four weeks -_- not too thrilled about that part. I already hate having to go every 8 weeks I swear they can start a tap i feel like a kegger at a frat party. ANYWAY! that was my crazy morning, i am planning on taking an afternoon nap I feel like i had earned it. The hubs took all the news pretty well too which made me feel a lot better it's a lot of info to take in so i was glad he just sat there and listened to everything. I told him my RE also thinks i should consider a full hysterectomy after we decide we are done having kids. Just to be safe and take the risk out of having anything spread or have any more cysts and i talked to the hubs and he agreed. On the plus side no more periods.

Re: Yet an other update!!!

  • Wow, I'm so sorry! It was kind of him to give you a clear, detailed explanation so you understand what's happening with your own body.

Did he give you an option of starting treatments now instead of waiting? Since you don't want to risk needed a repeat surgery?

My RE said that endo or adhesions (connecting ute with bowel for example) can make conception without IVF quite difficult, so if it were me, I would want to know if there was an option to be a bit more aggressive with treatment?

That why he only wants to wait two months. Just give my body time to see if i can get KU on my own. If i can't by the time i go back which isn't too too long really then he will start me on what ever treatment he thinks will work best that day. I trust his opinions enough he's been right so far, and i do like the chance to do it on my own. But also still have other options at the ready, he knows whats going on with us moving and he is fine with moving quickly through everything. I'm hoping i don't need IVF our insurance doesn't cover it =/ FX

  • Just sending love. Thanks for the update and that is a lot to take in. Are you on pain meds or maybe just ibu? Were they able to see endo on your saline hystogram? I'm curious because my RE saw a 1.8cm endometriuma on my R ovary and my left tube is closed (showed in HSG). I am putting off lap surgery by trying a bunch of natural medicine thru my acupuncturist. Taking drops of DHEA, prognenalone and other vitamins I'm low in D. I want to get the endo in the source. I have a history of blockages and stuck type in my joints etc (I've been thru a lot of medical issues and found a holistic approach is my favorite). Anyway I'm putting it out there that maybe you should try Maya abdominal massage If you google it you should be able to find a practitioner on your area and get a lesson in how to do it yourself. It's a daily practice and I do it before bed or after BDing. Very easy. I am also doing mediations by Circle and Bloom and I love the relaxation and visualization practice.
Hope this helps or is at least interesting!

    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!
