One and Done?

Brought to you by the Baby Fever post (I know we've done this before but it's been awhile).  Who all is officially one and done or considering being one and done?

We are seriously considering being OAD, our life is already super hectic with 1 and I don't think I could handle another one.  Also, two kids in daycare would break the budget.

Between my health issues and the high cost of living in this area, we'd both been leaning towards one and done even before DD was born. Sometimes I think about how it would be like with 2 but our family feels complete. I feel like I'm constantly having to justify this decision to my relatives and friends, to the point that I'm just not talking about it anymore. I'm tired of hearing about how mean we are not to give DD a sibling.A

@wren1212 When DD was like 2 months old, a family asked if we were going to have another and I said we hadn't decided yet (it was the last thing I wanted to think about at 2 months PP).  She then proceeded to tell me how mean it was when people only have one child.  GRRR.  Personally I think it's mean to have more than one child if that's not what you really want to do.

  • We always said we wanted two and wanted them to be close in age. Love A but working full time stressful jobs and with one is a lot of hard work especially when I do most of the care for A. We've agreed we want two but we are going to wait another year at least.

  • I hope not. I am an only child and I really want KJ to have a sibling. My DH says he doesn't want another and it breaks my heart. I pray about it and have faith he will change his mind.

  • we want two but we've always said OAD. Pregnancy took a toll on my health and I just don't think I could deal with more sleep issues.

  • We originally planned two but are considering just one now for a few reasons:

    1) LO is such a sweet and easy baby. I have a feeling if we had another one we would end up with the opposite--super clingy, poor sleeper, etc. So I guess the whole quit while you are ahead mentality.

    2) Money! We are selfish, and would like to travel more and save up for LO for college, and we can do that with one child. But add a second baby into the mix and bye bye expensive trips and other luxuries.

    3) I had preeclampsia the first time around and worry what if I have complications next time, especially since I would be AMA by the time we try again.
